It's TIME!

Time for HIP HOP! I love Hip Hop! Angela is full of surprises on Hip Hop day so I can't wait to see what she has for us TODAY! In case you just got back from planet Mars and didn't know about all the AWESOME sets releasing this week, head on over to Angela's blog to find out what's new and to start your Hop off right!
My card today uses one of the new sets, Love in the Air! I *LOVE* this set SO much! The set was designed by Lisa Hetrick, is that chick talented or what??? I'm so glad she shares her talent with us, I just love EVERY. SINGLE. DESIGN.
Okay, on to the card!
I absolutely love this card! I wish my preggo friend was closer to being due so I could give it to her, lol! Maybe I still will, it's too cute to not get any love:D
The card base is white cardstock by PTI. The Spring Rain (also PTI) was stamped with the Baby Boy Plaid background in Bashful Blue! I added the scalloped piece (Barely Banana by SU!) and then tied some Spring Rain ribbon around the card. That "B" is cut using my new SLICE! I LOVE that puppy and was super happy to be able to use it:) I stamped the "aby" with the Just My Type alphas, they fit PERFECTLY! The star stamp is from the January KOM!
Well I hope you enjoy the Hip Hop today! There are TONS of new stamps available today and I just KNOW you're going to see most of them on your way along the Hip Hop trail! Your next stop is over to the ever so adorable, talented, and sweet BROOKIE! Enjoy and have a fantastic day:)

PTI Sketch!

Have ya'll been to the PTI blog lately? If not, you should! To celebrate their 2nd anniversary, they are hosting one heck of a celebration party! SO many awesome give-aways! I just had to play in this sketch challenge, it was fun! You have to download a little connect-the-dots game and then follow the sketch it creates:) Here's mine!I used Ripe Avacado for the base of the card and then used "Father Know's Best" for my main image, I love the trees in this set and the sentiments are SO great for dads and grandpa's:) I think I'll send this one to my dad, just because:)

Viva la Verve!

It's that time of the week again! Another Viva la Verve sketch with a {twist} challenge! Here is your sketch for this week:
The Twist this week is NO DP! That's right, you can only use cardstock! It's not really as hard as it sounds, so stop yelling at me through your computers;)
Here's my card for this sketch:
I used the Plain Jane, Phillipians 4:13 for my card, it's such a great verse:) The base is kraft and I also used Chocolate Chip (SU!) and Shimmery Gold (PTI). The YUMMO ribbon is from Michaels. I love their ribbon during the holidays, so many beautiful shimmery ribbons!
My Guest Design Diva this week is Amy, otherwise known as Devlinwhite on SCS! Here's her card:
Isn't it a beaut? I love how she stamped the balloons and then layered a piece of vellum over it, then stamped and embossed the sentiment! Such a clever idea! Amy used the balloons from Birthday Surprise, the sentiment from Fancy Florals Remix!
Click {here} to go to the VLV thread in the SCS forum and find the contest details! We'd love for you to play along, even if you don't have any Verve stamps!
Hope you have a VERVALICIOUS Friday!

It's a HIP HOP REWIND!

HIP HOP! If this is your first hip hop and you just decided to come and visit me, make sure you start at the Unity Blog for any special deals Angela might have for you and to start the blog hop! Follow your way through all the blogs and there will be some blog candy waiting at the end of the hop for you! w00t!
This week, we're focusing on OLDIES BUT GOODIES! With all the AMAZING stamps released thse past few weeks, some of our stamps get a little lonely and sit uninked {GASP!} So today we're busting out our older sets which are every bit as good as the new sets:D I decided to rewind ALL THE WAY TO THE BEGINNING! Way back in the day when I was doing product reviews for SCS, Unity was a new company and was one of the first products I got to review! Angela sent each of us a stamp set to play with and to write our review about. Spring has Sprung is the kit she sent me and I still love it *to this day*. It's no longer a kit, but is broken into singles now!

Here is my card, using "flower with stem" which used to be part of the kit:
I paper-pieced the flower petals and leaves with bits of the dp and cardstock I used on the rest of the card, it's SO much faster than coloring and I was a bit lazy today;)
The dp I used is by October Afternoon and the cardstock I used is Vanilla, Summer Sunrise (PTI), and Kiwi Kiss (SU!) I also added some dew drops, because they're just so easy to add and I love the texture they add as well:) The ribbon is by PTI and the butterfly punch is by Martha Stewart!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your HIP HOP REWIND today! I'll see you in the forums for some HIP HOPPIN' FUN! Head on over and check out my girl Patter's Blog and see what kind of gorgeousness she has for you today:)

WHALE of a time!

I have some fun Whale Watching pictures to share today! Billy and I (see, that's us! And my crutch, lol! Can't get away from that thang!) went on a tour today to see the Humpback Whales! Every year between like January and March the Humpback Whales migrate down to the East China Sea right off the coast of Okinawa for mating season. So our services squadron provides tours! They load us all up in a bus and drive us down to the pier and then we hop on a boat and go whaling! Okay, we don't really go "whaling" cause I'm pretty sure that's illegal but we did get to see some whales! My good ole' buddy ole' pal Christy and her man Lee came too, it was fun hanging out with them:) I took about 70 pictures (and you'll thank me for not posting them all, they pretty much all look the same, lol!). The only sad part of the trip was Christy getting sea sick:( Poor girl got sick before we even got to see the first whale so she was holed up in the cabin of the boat trying to regain her composure. Liz, if your out there, I just couldn't take a picture of her throwing up:( I'm a stinker but dang I couldn't bring myself to shove my camera in her face as she was getting sick, lol! I would have if she looked like she was having fun, but I think I saw daggers in her eyes when I came around the corner, even though my camera wasn't pointing at her! BUT I did get this one, and it's as close as I could get! Poor Christy, I'm sorry you didn't have fun:(
Here's a cute picture of Christy and I, BEFORE her trip took a downhill slide...
Wanna see some pictures of the whales? I didn't get any super ones, but the whales weren't in a particularly playful mood, no jumping around and doing flips, durnit.
In this picture, you can see the back of the whale, and his blowhole! That's the easiest way I found to see the whales out in the ocean, just look for the blowspouts:)
Here's another picture of the whale. Not a particularly great shot, but it's hard to catch them at just the right moment.

This is a cool shot I got of the whale's tail as he was goin back under, sweet huh?
And here's another picture of my sweet man, for good measure:)
It was a fun trip, I only wish Christy could have enjoyed it more! Maybe next year, huh Christy?;)

Okay, if your still with me after all those pictures, I have a card to post as well, lol! I made this one for today's Featured Stamper challenge, BevR has one gorgeous gallery! THIS is the card I case'd and here's my card:

I love Bev's coloring and couldn't DREAM of CASE'ing that, lol! This sweet image and sentiment are both by Whiff of Joy.

Okay, I'm gonna get back to my movie (we're watching Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Thanks Christy;) My sweet hubby is trying to nurse me back to health, I started getting a cold yesterday and I'm feelin like crap tonite! Okay, ya'll have a terriffic day:)

Hip Hop!

We are at least on our 478th Hip Hop so I've run out of entertaining titles, bwahaha! BUT the title isn't what's important, it's the FUN!:) And what's funner (more fun?) than a NEW RELEASE?? NOTHING, I'd say! This weeks release is a super fun BEACH kit! It's called "Beach Days & Sun Rays!" Isn't that a cute name? I love each and every little (and I use this word loosely, the stamps are actually a really great size!) image in this kit! The fish are my fave though, they're so cute and retro! LoVE them!
I definately do some of my best work when I have a glass {or two} of wine while I stamp! Is it just me? LOL! Something about this card makes me real happy:) Maybe the colors and all the circles. It's just symmetrically right. All is right with the world! I sponged some Bashful Blue on the main image to look like water and then dabbed some Crystal Effects on to look like air bubbles. Hopefully that's what it looks like, lol! I stamped the sun and then colored it in with some Orange stickles. Wouldn't life be so much better if our sun was GLITTERY? WOAH! I'd love to wake up to that every morning, lmbo!:) The polka dot dp I used is from the Jersey Shore pack by SU! I love the colors in this paper, makes me happy:)
Okay, well now that Angela and the gang are heading back home from CHA, I'm sure she's dying to give some good discounts, sales, new stuff, WHATEVA! SO, make sure you check out the blog! Also, if this is your first Hip Hop or if you just Hip Hop Happened upon my blog and are wondering what the heck I'm talking about, check out the Unity Blog and hop through the DT blogs to see some new rubbah, TONS of inspiration, and end up at the blog offering UNITY SUGAR {blog candy!}
After you're done checkin out my cutie lil fishy card, head on over to Ms. Patter's blog! She's got such wonderful style and I for one can't wait to see what she has for us today:)
HIP HOP and see you in THE FORUMS starting at 11:00 CST!!!!!!!

Viva la VERVE Week 4!

Oy, what a busy week it's been! Is it just me, or was yours a whirlwind of idiot co-workers as well? Man, it's so good to finally be at the weekend:) OH YEAH! It's Friday for ya'll, my bad;)

Friday is GOOD THOUGH! It means it's another Viva la Verve challenge! See {THIS} thread for the sketch and challenge! You REALLY do not want to miss it!:) Here's my sample for the sketch!
The {twist} this week is FLOWERS! And wouldn't you know it, I didn't even remember my OWN TWIST! So I had to add the flower as an after thought, it's pretty obvious, eh?:D I still like it though, it's hard to mess up with a Prima!
The paper I used is called Perfect Day by CTMH! Isn't it AWESOME?! I am sitll so in love with CTMH, man I wish I could demo for all companies, lol! ANYWAYS, the adorable stamps I used are from the Sweet Valentine set by Verve, do you LOVE that font or what? Julee has such a way with putting fonts together, just crazy about this one:)

Okay, Billy and I are watching Super Cross racing, so I gotta go, love this stuff:D Have a great day and I can't wait to see all that VERVALICIOUSNESS in the gallery this week!

It's a Hip Hop Thang!

What's shakin peeps!? It's FRIDAY EVE! One of my favorite days of the week:D This week has been INCREDIBLY busy at work, I mean I haven't had a chance to sit at my desk and do any of my "office" work all week! I'm out and about base, collecting lead and copper water samples, doesn't that sound fun? NOT! I'd MUCH rather be HIP HOPPING with ya'll!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you get your January KOM yet? If not, YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! I think besides the sweet peacock, this house stamp is my FAVE!!!!!!!!!!
Isnt' it darling?? It went absolutely PERFECT with this paper by October Afternoon!!!!!!! I just got some Oderless Mineral Spirits in and have been practicing with my prisma color pencils, this is SO much fun:) I was using baby oil at first, but it was pretty oily {Ha! Go figure!} and didn't blen as well as I'd like. So I ordered some OMS and have fallen in LoVe!! The stuff moves the pencil around like buttah! Made coloring this lil house so enjoyable! The sketch for this card is SC212, What a fun sketch:) OH and the sentiment is actually from the September KOM, I cut it apart so I can lay it out like I want, it's much simpler than leaving it one long stamp:) I didn't take a picture, but the rest of the sentiment {is never long} is stamped on the inside of the card!
Check out *the blog* for new releases and deals! AND as always, don't forget to come and hang out with us in the HIP HOP thread in the forums:)
I don't want to be the one to stand between ya'll and some blog candy, so your next stop on this wild ride is my friend CHRISTI! Christi is *so* inspiring {and guess what! I get to meet her in March, w00t!} and always has the CUTEST projects (and pics of her cute kids!) Enjoy the rest of your HIP HOP! I'll see ya in the forums!!

Mojolicious Color Challenge!

Hey friends! I just got done with a fun lil card for Julee's Mojo Monday (#70) and today's Color Challenge (#202)! The colors to use were Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose, and Bravo Burgundy. I think Regal Rose and Bravo Burgundy are the only two colors in the rainbow that I don't own! So I had to substitute with some other cardstock I have layin' around:)
I decided to bust out one of my many ignored SU! sets for this card! I gotta use these more (especially since I just placed an insanely huge order from the new catty, my head is still spinning a bit, lol!) I love this lil mailbox with the bird sittin on top, so cute:) I colored it in with my Copics, which I still really suck at but I'm practicing! The dp is the new Bittersweet by Basic Gray! THis paper is SO wonderful and I love it and want to marry it!
Don't you love that sketch? Check it out {HERE} on the Mojo Monday blog!
That's all I have for tonite, I'm off to comment on some cards in the gallery, been too long since I did that!
Have a fabulous day peeps!
