New VERVE!

Verve just release a bunch of fantastic new sets this past Friday! If you haven't had a chance to check em' out, click here ---> NEW STAMPS!
I had soo sososososo much fun making samples with these new sets, SO much fun!
So are you ready?
This card uses the set "1 Peter 5:7"
The paper is by Cosmo Cricket in the Everafter line! The leaves are a die from SU! For the sentiment panel, I stamped it on a piece of Rustic Cream (PTI) cardstock and cut around it.
This next card features the same stamp set. I used Haiku dp by SU! for the color pallette.
Okay, next card features one of the new Plain Janes, Hebrews 1:11...
I went super clean and simple with this one! Its all one layer! I cut a piece of cardstock 4.25x5.5 and cut a rectangle out of the middle using a nestability die. Then I temporarily glued it to the front of my card and masked it off and then inked it with Tea Dye distress ink. I stamped the Hebrews 1:11 verse in Momento Rich Cocoa on top of the masked inking. I then stamped the new leaves Plain Jane. I finished it off with some cream Jute by PTI.
The last Plain Jane is Psalms 121:1-2...
I used October Afternoon patterned paper and some FAB-U-LOUS Prima Hydrangea flowers, LOVE these things!I got the sketch from the Midnight Madness Sketch #7!
WHEW! Okay, a few more to go;)
NEXT two cards use stamps from Just for You:
This set has the most amazing sentiments in it, really fabulous stuff:)
Next up is my FAVORITE set of this release, Kindred Spirits!
I LOVE the fleur de lis images in this stamp set, doncha think Julee should make a set of different Fleur de lis? I would love that:D Colors on this card are Kiwi Kiss (SU!), Lemon Tart, and Scarlet Jewel (PTI). This next one is my favorite out of the bunch, and the last one I have to share!
I used Riding Hood Red, So Saffron, and Kiwi Kiss ink. I scored the Fleur de Lis background with my Scor-Pal and then stamped the Fleur de Lis in the three colors. I also love that I can use my new Fluer de Lis punch by EK Success:)
Anyhoo, those are my cards for this release! Hope you enjoyed them and hope you get to do a little shoppin;)
Have a great week friends!

Christmas HIP HOP!

Have you SEEN the new Christmas kit that Angela is releasing today? OMG! I KNOW! It's completely fabulous. I wish I had it RIGHT NOW so I could make samples for you to LOVE but I do not. Bummer deal! Well, I'll make do with what I have, and what I have is the uber fantastical "Snowone Like You" set! This is one of my all time favies, the snowmen are so perfect and adorable!
The card base is Soft sky. I can't remember who makes the patterned paper I used, but it's delicious! LOL! The Snowone like You kit is one you'll definately want to add to your collection this year;)
I also made this cute little card with the June KOM, "Perfect in Every Way" and Everyday Adorable...

The card base (and ribbon) for this card is a new color by PTI called Scarlet Jewel! This is one FABULOUS color, it's so rich and beautiful:) The pink piece is Hibiscus, also by PTI. The sentiment is from the Unity June KOM and the flower stamp is from Everyday Adorable.
You ready for more eye candy? Well so am I! I'm sending you on your way to the lovely
***WENDY***! Enjoy your HIP HOP!!!!!!!

Are you ready for another VERVE RELEASE?

I know it hasn't been too long since the last one, but if you can believe it, Julee has come up with ANOTHER fantastic release! I am SUPER excited about this one, you will love it:)

We're having a release party in the Verve Forums on Friday night, June 26th, at 9 pm EST! If you want to win the entire release, Julee has come up with five AMAZING sketches! Just complete all five sketches and upload them to the gallery with the corresponding keywords and you'll be entered! When you're finished with all five sketch cards, you can also post your links in the "I DID IT! Champions Thread". See {THIS} thread for all the deets!

I made a card tonite for the first of the sketch challenges, I'll try for more tomorrow, lol!
The stamp set I used is "Beautiful You". I had to adjust the sketch a bit to allow for my ribbon and the sentiment, but I think it's pretty close to the sketch;)

I'm off to relax with my honey, see you tomorrow friends!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Beautiful You
Paper: Everafter (Cosmo Cricket), Always Artichoke (SU!), Rustic Cream (PTI)
Ink: Pesto (Adirondack)

Monday Challenge: Embossing, Wet or Dry!

Today, the chicks decided to do a little embossing! And since I ALWAYS use my bug for some dry embossing, I thought I'd go for some wet embossing:)
I stamped the large polka dots from "Polka Dot Basics" by PTI in white embossing powder (CTMH) and then embossed! I love these big ole' white polka dots, they're so fun:)
The turqouise piece is Bermuda Bay, the green piece is Kiwi Kiss, and the red piece is Riding Hood Red! This girl likes her in-colors;)
The *SWEET* stamps I used are from this months KOM by Unity! You still have a week if you want to buy this kit, it's so fun, you won't regret it;)
See what the rest of the girls embossed by clicking on their links below! If you want to play with us, just link your card to one of our blogs so we can see it and comment!

It's LAUNDRY DAY!!!!!!!

At least that's what it looks like with these two cards I made today, lol!
I am LOVING this clothesline stamp and coordinating sentiment in the June 09 KOM by Unity!
I had a perfect opportunity to use it today too. TWICE!
First off, my good ole buddy ole pal Christy S. is this weeks Featured Stamper on SCS! IT'S TRUE! I'm friends with a real live celebrity:D No one deserves the spotlight like this girl, she's such a doll and I am SO LUCKY to know her and live just down the road from her:) I {heart} you, Christy!!!!!!!!!!!! I had so much fun going through her fantastic gallery and choosing a card to case. I had a HARD time, but finally closed my eyes, twirled around in circles to make myself dizzy, and then pointed and happened upon THIS beauty!
So here's my card, in honor of my one of my bff's, Christy!

The paper I used is from the Delicate Dots dp from the Spring Mini I believe...Love the colors in this paper pack!
I also used some blue ribbon and some green buttons (buttons by PTI).
Congratulations to you Christy, my friend!!!!!!!!
I made another card with this stamp because it's so dang cute:) I challenged myself to make a one layer card, because if you follow my blog at all, you know I like my layers! And embellishments!
I literally got a stomach ache walking away from this card, I felt like it needed more layers and bling and SOMETHING ELSE! But I like it this way too so I left it alone:) That stamp and sentiment really speak for themselves. Okay, well my love and I are watching the second National Treasure movie (I'm reading "Angels and Demons", after watching and LOVING the movie, so I'm really into these treasure hunt type movies, and yes I realize that Angels and Demons isn't a treasure hunt movie, but it has the same feel for me, ha!) I'm also hopped up on cold medicine so I'm probably not making any sense anymore anyways:)
Have a great Sunday friends, don't forget to check out the Featured Stamper challenge and find a card to case!!!!!!!!!!

Distressed!

I'm SO distressed today! But that's a good thing, heehee;) I've been playing with my Ranger Distress Inks (Broken China, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Black Soot)today! I watched some tutorials by Jennifer McGuire today (on TwoPeas) and was really inspired to play along:)
My card base is Vintage Cream by PTI. The green piece is Ripe Avacado, also by PTI. The way I did the background on the main image is using my Ranger Distress Inks! See {THIS} link for directions by the queen distresser herself;) Here's a close-up I took to show the shimmery effect the Perfect Pearls has on the piece, it's super shimmery and beautiful:) The script stamp is called "Background Basics: Text" by PTI, the swirl is from "Fancy Flourishes" also by PTI, and the flower (Bayleaf) and sentiment (Birthday Centers) are by Cornish Heritage Farms.
My honey got home today, he's been gone for a whole week! He was doing some training some I'm super happy to have him home:) We're watching "So you think you can dance"! Isn't he awesome, he watches with me:) Such a great guy!

You girls have a great weekend:) See ya tomorrow!

Hip Hop REWIND!!!!!!!!!!!

This week, we're doing a rewind here on the hop! All the talented Unity Rockstars are going to be sharing NEW ideas with some old favorites! I personally LOVE rewind days because I have so many Unity stamps I haven't played with in so long, these hops give me a GREAT excuse to pull them out and give them some love:)
My first card uses the big, beautiful flower called "Vintage Blossom" and the sentiment "Keeper of my Heart!" This was a really fun card to make, the large blossom makes a great focal image!
My next card is a big girly to give to my honey, but I'm gonna do it anyways cause really he's the only one I would tell to "Kiss me!" LOL!
The card base is one of the new In-Colors by SU! called Melon Mambo! It's a GORGEOUS deep pink and I'm SO loving it:) I used my heart nesties and cut the middle of the card out and taped some acetate on the inside so you can see right through it! I stamped the "Kiss me" from the January 09 KOM in Black Staz-on. I can't remember who makes this heart dp but I love it! It's fun and funky:)
**Sorry this is late, blogger didn't post when it was supposed to and I missed the whole hop! BAH!!!!!!!!!***

Isn't it amazing?

How much better you feel when you have a good workout? I have been MIA this week because work and some other stuff has left me feeling ZAPPED of ALL energy! Today when I got off work I came home, plopped myself on the couch and had every intention of vegging out all evening. BUT a little voice inside me was saying "you should go work out, you'll feel SO much better!" I tried to shut that voice off and push it far back into the recesses of my conscience, but then a stronger part of me said "GET OFF YOUR LAZY BEHIND AND GO EXERCISE!" So, I ran upstairs and put my workout clothes on, grabbed my iPod, and headed out the door before I could argue with myself anymore. And let me tell you, I'm SO glad I did! I had a wonderful workout and felt SO MUCH BETTER! For anyone whose never lived on a tropical island, let me tell you what it was like in the gym *whose A/C was not working?!?!* It has been RAINY and HUMID beyond belief this week, and in the high 80's, so I walk into the gym *again, NO A/C!* and the floors were actually sopping wet from the humidity in their! The mirrors on the walls were foggy and dripping with water, I was CURSING at that stronger part of my conscience that had actually talked me into going to the gym, but once I hopped on the bike, cranked the level up to 13 and got going, I was so much better:) There is nothing like a good sweat, kwim? I don't like to sweat when you're not SUPPOSED to and when you want your hair and makeup to look good, but when I'm working out, I love it! So long story short, that workout made all the stress of this week melt away and I feel 100% better and was actually really inspired to stamp *after I took a good shower, lol!*
I actually made this card a couple days ago, for the Monday Challenge Chicks challenge. It was to make a card in 10 minutes. Well, this card really did take me 10 minutes because I'd already had this idea and stamp set in mind!
I used a new *to me* stamp set, Echoes of Kindess by SU! I got the color combo from Dawn's "Raspberry Suite Color Combo #9" challenge! The colors were black, green, and vanilla so I used black Bitty Dots paper, Spring Moss and Vintage Cream cardstock, all by PTI. The ribbon is also PTI.

Here's another card I made with a new Level 3 hostess set by SU! called Kind and Caring Thoughts!
The colors I used are Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red (SU!) and White (PTI). I used the Curly Label punch (SU!) on the side, I love how it turned out!
Well, that's what I have to share today! I've got to get back to my book! I've been reading "Angels and Demons" by Dan Brown! After I saw the movie ***SOOOOO EXCELLENT! Better than Da Vinci code!*** I really wanted to read the book and I'm LOVING it! Lots more detail than the movie, which is usually how it goes!
Have a great day friends, see ya tomorrow for HIP HOP!!!!!!

Have you caught the digi-stamp fever yet? If not, take a look at the digiments that Michelle has come out with! She specializes in digital sentiments that are SO fun and affordable! Only $1 a sentiment! Tomorrow, June 13th, she's releasing 30 more new digiments! She's offering an AMAZING deal too. Normally, they're $1 each or all 30 sentiments for $20. Here is a sample I made with one of the patriotic digments:

I used "Bitty Backgrounds" by SU! for the blue dotted background. Isn't that a great sentiment for sending patriotic cards out this year? The 4th of July is coming up VERY fast!
Here's my card that was featured on the Digiments Blog today:
The stars are from Polka Stars by Verve and the sentiment is another fun Patriotic Digiment.

hiP HoP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, hello! One of my favorite days of the week, HIP HOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today's hip hop is SURE to be inspirational! Do you have a hard time with masculine cards? Trying to figure out what to make dad for Father's Day? Well the ladies of the HIP HOP are going to give you BOOKOOS of ideas today!
I have one simple lil card, that I totally love:)
I started with a Kraft base and the green piece is from Haiku, by SU!
I don't have the stamp sets being featured on the blog hop this week, but the good thing about having SO MANY stamp sets is the ability to mix and match images from all sorts of kits:) LOVE THAT!
The "dad" was stamped with the "Just My Type" alpha. It's the perfect size for pretty much any sentiment you want to create! The "enjoy your day!" sentiment comes from the May KOM which is still available! The tree trunk and owl came from the July 2008 KOM.
As you can see, the KOM's are my most widely used kits, I seriously could only own these kits and get tons of stamping done! Such a great deal for such a small amount of money, and NO COMMITMENT! See the KOM Details for how to get your own KOM, this months kit is SUPAH fun!

Okay, well I hope you enjoyed my little card:) Now off you go to the sweet and sassy ***ROBYN***!!!!!!!!

Scalloped Babies!

That's the theme the Monday girls are working with today! To make a baby card with scallops! My friend Jenny is now 2 weeks and 1 day over-due, poor thing! I just KNOW she is ready to have that stinkin kid, haha! So I made a card to give her in the hospital when she finally DOES have a baby:)
I used the sweet bunny from the Verve set "Practically Perfect". The dp is from last year's SU! catalog, I can't remember what it's called, bummer! I also got to use my new "Effervesence" border punch by Fiskars, love it! I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #89 for the layout.
Go on over and see what the rest of the girls have for this weeks theme! We'd love it if you play along with us, just link your card to one of our blogs so we can see what you made!
Have a fantastic Monday!

Verve Project Parade!

It's time for another Project Parade on the Verve blog! This months theme is "It's a Guy Thing!"
All you have to do to play along is make a card or project to fit this theme.
My project is featured today on the Verve blog, HERE, but I'll post it here on my blog too:)

This adorable guy is my honey, Billy! There is Verve ALL over this layout:) The "best husband ever" sentiment is from Dad's Day, the "Groovy Kind of Love" sentiment is from "Feeling Groovy", the heart border is from "Hearts on Fire", and the "I'm so blessed" sentiment is from "Because of You".
To play along with us, see the blog to find all the details!
Have a great rest of your weekend!

**Perfect in EVERY way!**

That's for sure! I'm talking about the June Kit of the Month, baby! This kit is SO perfect in every way:) I've never been so inspired to create than I am with this kit! I made FOUR cards for today's HIP HOP! w00t!!!!!!!!!!!
So since I have so many to show, I'm gonna cut the chit chat short *you're welcome*, ha!
This card uses the cherries, "sweet" frame, and sentiment from the June KOM. I was a little heavy-handed with the distressing ink pads (PTI) but it's all good:D
This card uses the ice cream cone and sentiment from the June KOM. I printed off that patterned paper from the digi kit called "Orchard" from Two Peas in a Bucket. I paper-pieced the ice-cream cone and sprinkled some glitter on the top scoop!
This card is for Jeanne's Hip Hop Color Challenge, Red-White-and Black! Again, all stamps are from the June KOM (I'm telling you, this kit is so versatile!) I've used this layout on a card before and I just love it! I'll probably use it even more, lol!

Okay, this is the last one! I made this one for Jeanne's "Unity has so much to say" challenge. The challenge was to use a sentiment stamp to create a background! The "Confession" sentiment comes from "Confession: I {luv} Unity"! The owl and branch are from the June KOM and the I heart U sentiment comes from the August 08 KOM. The paper I used is from the Latte stack by DCWV. I also used some gold ice stickles on the flowers/leaves (cuz all my cards need a LITTLE bling AT LEAST!)
I guess you've probably heard the news by now! Angela invited Kimber and Julie to be permanent DT members! I am super excited about this because they are both so sweet and talented! A really nice addition to the team! Also, the THREE June Guest Designers are Michelle Woerner (LOVE HER!), Gina Hanson (wow, SO talented!), and Candace Harrison! Candace won the May KOM Challenge and won this spot on the team, she's so amazing!
Alright, well now that I talked your ear off, it's time to hop on over to the lovely ***Jen Buck!*** Enjoy your HIP HOP!!!!!!!
