December Diva Dare

I'm up today on the Verve Blog! This month's Diva Dare is "Playing Favorites" so the girls are pulling out there favorite Verve creations for the year, or stamping up something new. I decided to stamp something new since I'm too lazy to go back through all my cards and choose favorites, lol!

First I stamped the presents from Borderline in the corners of the kraft card base. Then I added a piece of double-sided patterned paper and folded opposing corners in, so you could see the presents in the background. 

The flowers are from Poppy Birthday, another favorite stamp set from this year! Super fabulous Poppy building set, plus matching dies!

The sentiment is from Poppy Birthday and the scalloped frame is from Making a Statement.The frame was cut out with the coordinating Rounded Scallop Frame die. The faux stitching is a stamp from Borderline, love it! I also added some of the small banners from the Banner Bundle die set.

The dare this month is to create something inspired by TIC-TAC-TOE! 

I went pretty obvious with my design and chose to create a grid pattern, plus a line of three hearts:)

April Diva Dare!

It's back! The Diva Dare, that is, and I'm up today on the Verve Blog!

This month we dare you to make a card, project, layout, or whatever fits your stamping style using this month's theme - All Aboard!   It has been Grand Central Station around here lately, Julee gave birth to two beautiful baby boys and has had her hands full!  So I am challenging you to use chipboard, corrugated cardboard, or kraft on your creation or project!  We can't wait to see how you answer the dare!

I pulled out my Super Dad, Purely Sentimental, Ribbon Banner die to create this graduation card!

The card base was embossed with a star folder from Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby). I cut three chipboard banners out with the Ribbon Banner die and then stamped the banner image from Super Dad on all three. Next I stamped the sentiment, from Purely Sentimental, and the stars (also from Super Dad)! You know I couldn't stop there, so I added some buttons, a bow, and some silver flat backs.

March Diva Dare

Hey you! Thanks for coming by today:) It's my turn over on the Verve Blog today! If you didn't know, it's time for March's Diva Dare and this month, the dare is COLOR ME SPRING!

I don't know about you, but I can't get enough of the spring colors lately! Here in Okinawa, Spring is HERE! And summer should be here by next week, lol! I kept a really springy feeling to my card by using soft yellows, pinks, and greens and WHAT is more springy than a bird? 

First I stamped the newly released Hope Perches Plain Jane in Tea Dye distress ink and then I inked up the bird from Swan Song in Tea Dye distress ink, stamped it off once, and then stamped it over the sentiment for a kind of "sunk in" appearance. I love how it came out, just how I envisioned! I tied some bows to the card front and then wrapped some twine around the ribbon and added buttons and another bow! I tell ya, I can't get enough of ribbon, buttons, and bows! My husband even noticed the trend once, he goes "Babe, they all look the same! Why do they all have ribbon and buttons?" *sigh* They just don't understand but God bless 'em for trying;)

January Diva Dare--Smallest Things

If you haven't heard yet, we're mixing things up over on the Verve blog! You may remember our previous theme called "Project Parade". We've renamed it the "Diva Dare" to make it less intimidating and more fun! Basically, we're issued a "Dare" and we answer it with whatever we're feeling at the time:) Doesn't have to be a large project or anything, it can be a card, a tag, a bookmark, an altered piece, whatever your heart desires! It's ALL good! 

So come play with us, lots of goodies in it for the winner;)

I'm up on the blog today, and here's my project!

 I wanted to do something a *little* different, so I cut about 1.25" off the card front for some visual interest and then hung the sentiment panel off the side!

I colored the animals from To the Moon and stuck 'em behind the Smallest Things PJ panel, I think they're so cute!

It's mostly covered up by the animals, but the sentiment panel is built on top of the Classy Label die. The sentiment was cut out with a label punch by EK Success.
