DS8~Love you Dearly!

Hello! I'm hear today with the next Deconstructed Sketch Challenge! Can you believe it's our 8th sketch already? Jen always comes up with the most amazing sketches:)

I pulled out one of my Paper Smooches stamp sets to make this card...

The "Love you Dearly" sentiment is from "Pretty Phrases" by Paper Smooches and the "friend" is from a Technique Tuesday set (which I forgot the name of...). These papers are some of my new faves, they're from the Dots and Stripes collection from EP!

Check out the Deconstructed Blog for a peek at the rest of the DT cards, they are AMAZING!

______________________________________

I hope you'll endulge me in sharing one more card...I've been having problems with blogger the past couple days and haven't had a chance to post this card I made for the CR84N color challenge...

Aren't those awesome colors? I immediately picture this card in my mind when I saw these colors...

I wanted something simple and not too showy, kwim? I cut the polka dot paper with a Spellbinders Nestability, added the prima flower and leaves, stamped the sentiment (from SU!) and then stamped the small vase from Gracious Vases (from PTI) along the top. Betsy Veldman did this on one of her sneak peek cards last month and I bought this set pretty much for this purpose, lol! I love how it looks like ribbon weaved through the card:) I also submitted this and a few other cards in for the Papercrafts Gallery Idol contest. I wasn't going to say anything about that until the top 20 come out, because I'm sure I won't make the cut, lol! Oh well, it's like the lottery...you can't win if you don't play:)

Thanks for stopping by today!

SCRS #49-Happy Day!

Hey there! I'm posting a little late today, my apologies. I've been trying to tame my card for this challenge and it just wasn't having it, lol! I think "recycled item" challenges are always the most difficult for me, because I don't have that kind of imagination. SO, unfortunately, this is a very weak attempt at "recycled"...

What's the recycled item, you may be asking yourself? Well do you see how the bow doesn't match the ribbon? Yeah, that bow is a reject from a different project from weeks ago. It was just sitting on my desk so I figured "what the heck?" LOL! It works I guess, even though it may not be quite what the challenge was about;)
I used Bubble Millie on this card. I stamped her on Neenah cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored her in with Copics. The papers are from EP's Walk in the Park collection.

Don't forget to check out the SCRS Blog for a peek at what the rest of the girls came up with. I'm sure their cards are much better, haha!

DS7~Hello Friend!

It's a Deconstructed Sketch Vacation Blog Hop! Jen is on vacation this week so she thought it would be fun to mix things up a bit this week and have a blog hop. And you know what a blog hop means... that's right PRIZES!! For this blog hop there will be TWO prizes, one for one very lucky commenter and one for one
very lucky randomly drawn participant in the sketch challenge. If you're joining me from Anna Maria's blog, you're on the right track. If not, and you want to see all the sketch cards and comment for your chance to win, Start out at Arielle's Blog and hop through the list!

So what do you need to do? Well, hop around to all the design team blogs and leave a comment. The list is below so you can hop in your own order. Very easy! Second, take a look at the sketch and make a project using the sketch as creative inspiration, post it online (blog or gallery) and link it back to the InLinkz on Jen's blog. Again, very easy!! On June 27th, 2011 Jen will announce the winner of the comment prize on her blog. The winner of the sketch participation prize will be announced on June 30th along with the next sketch. So what are the prizes? Well Jen has kept that a secret so you will need to take a trip to her blog to find out what the prizes will be! But they are sure to be BIG!

Here's our awesome sketch, this week!

And here's my sample using a couple goodies from Verve!

I went shabby this week, because my past few cards have been clean and cutesy, I was ready to spend oodles of time on a pretty shabby card! The papers are all by Prima, because really...who do YOU think of when you think "shabby"? :)

The leaves are from Bloom and Grow and the sentiment is from Hope Blooms. I stamped the leaves on some patterned papers and then cut them out with the Elegant Leaves die. Then I cut out six flowers with the smallest shape from the Floral Circles dies and then crumpled them up and shaped them. I added a pearl to the centers and attached the flowers to the leaves with mini glue dots. I also added lots of Glimmer Mist to the whole card, it's lovely IRL:)

Now check out the next girl in line, ANGELA!!

Thanks so much for hopping with us today!

SCRS #48-What's Mew?

OOPSIE! Sorry my card is late--if you've been looking for this week's Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge #48! This week, we're using this fun sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches! I was thinking I was posting TOMORROW, lol! My bad:)

It looks a little scary, but that's why these are called CHALLENGES! LOL! Get you out of your comfort zone:) Here's mine using Kitty Cat Josh!

I stamped the image on Neenah cardstock and colored it with Copics to match this paper from MME's Lime Twist collection. The cardstock base is Orange Zest by PTI and the buttons are Hawaiian Shores by PTI. I used an embossing border folder from Cuttlebug on the top portion of the card and then tied some red twine (The Twinery's Maraschino. Pretty cut and dry card from me today:)
Here are the Copics I used on this image:
Check out the SCRS Blog for the rest of the DT's samples, there are some ADORABLE cards there:)
Thanks so much for stopping by!

DS6~Thanks!

Anybody ready for this week's Deconstructed Sketch??? It's *another* AWESOME one!

Here's my card using some PTI stamps!

I loved playing with those strips of paper on the sketch, there is alot you could do with this sketch:) I used Modern Basics on this card. I stamped the vine strip on all the cardstock and clear embossed them. Love how it looks IRL, clear embossing is SERIOUSLY under-rated! I also used my turqouise twine from "The Twinery"...love that stuff:)

Make sure to check out the Deconstructed Sketch blog and the rest of my DT girls!!
Thanks for stopping by today:)

SCRS #47-Have a Nice Day!

Hello! Today is Tuesday and that means a new Sparkle Creations challenge is starting up!

This week's challenge is to create an Easel card! I've never made one of these before but it was so fun and easy! Here are the instructions from SCS: Easel Card. Here's a sample from me using the adorable new Breakfast Leslie!

I colored Leslie with Copics to match the papers ( I can't remember who makes this, and these are only scraps, sorry!) To create the sentiment panel, I cut a label from Grommet Lables nesties and then stamped a coordinating frame from The Crafts Meow. The sentiment fit in there perfectly:) Yay!

Here's a list of DT members with Easel Cards! Check 'em out as you're enjoying your morning cuppa joe;)

Have a great day!

Mojo 194-Delight in Life

Quickie post from me:) I made this card for last week's Mojo Monday sketch a few days ago and I'm just now getting around to posting it, lol!

Julee came up with the MOST fabulous sketch, I mean seriously? Those skinny panels in the back had me giddy, so many fun ideas! But I stuck with cardstock only (aside from the Kraft notebook paper from the Basics line by BG) in colors using the Colour Q challenge for this week!
The sentiment is from Miracles Blossom and the leaves are from Bloom and Grow. I also used the coordinating "Elegant Leaves" die and cut some leaves out in kraft cardstock and embossed them with clear EP.
The colors are all from the Colour Q challenge, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Kraft, Soft Suede, and Vanilla!

Don't forget, this week is our monthly Get Your Diva On" Challenge and you could win a guest DT spot just by participating! See THIS THREAD for details:)

__________________________

I also made this card with last weeks' CPS  sketch, using a new set by The Craft's Meow! It's called "Sending you Sunshine"! I *LOOOOVE* this set!

I stamped the image on Neenah carstock and colored with Copics. The paper is from MME's Lime Twist collection:)

Thanks for stopping by today! I'll be back tomorrow with a Sparkle Creations challenge card:)

Sparkle Creations *Karber* Previews--Millie Bubbles

Hello! Have you been loving the SCRS sneak peeks so far this week? I have to admit, I'm totally smitten with Cherry Blossom Rin! I can't wait to get her!

Today, the Karber team is previewing another new stamp called "Millie Bubbles"!

Isn't she sweet? I kept this card pretty simple, because I liked all the circles and didn't know what to add, lol! Trust me, if I could have added anything else, I would have, haha! I am pleased with the clean look though, and love this soft yellow and pink color combination, very happy and summery!

Be sure to visit all rest of the SCRS designers for more peeks of Millie Bubbles. Sparkle will be giving away a Millie Bubbles to one lucky person! For a chance to win, you need to comment on all of the designer's blogs (list below). Then head on over to the SCRS blog and comment on the Millie post. DS5~Here's the Scoop!

Hey there! I have a sample to share for this week's Deconstructed Sketch, which as you can see, is quite awesome! (the sketch, not the card, lol)

I wanted to make a round card with this sketch, but decided last minute that I like how the circle looked on a square card, because I'm *loving* square cards lately:)

I kinda forgot to use TGF on my card last week, shame on me, lol! I have OODLES of TGF stamps and love to break them out and give them a little workout;) I especially love "Cheeky Chat", isn't she adorable? I used papers from MME's Lime Twist collection and some PTI buttons and ribbon. I love the colors on this card, so fun! The sentiment is from MFT's "Here's the Scoop", which has perfect sentiments for this image!

I hope you can play along with us this week! See THIS POST on Jen's blog for details and the linky tool to attach your card to! You'll also find samples from the rest of the DT:) Thanks for stopping by today:)

Sparkle Creations *Karber* Previews--Breakfast Leslie

Hey there! I'm here today with a preview at a newly released stamp set being released through Sparkle Creations on Saturday!! I was so excited when Sparkle asked me to be on the new Karber team as I really think these are some fun and cute images!

Here's my card...

I stamped Breakfast Leslie in Tuxedo Black in on Neenah cardstock, colored her up with my Copics, and then cut the image out. I stamped the gingham stamp from PTI in Daffodil Delight ink and then stamped the image on it again, and paper-pieced the apron on the table!

This image is so fun to color, don't you love that look of happy contentment on her face? I get that face too when I'm drinkin' my coffee;)

Be sure to visit all rest of the SCRS designers for more peeks of Breakfast Leslie. Sparkle will be giving away a Breakfast Leslie to one lucky person! For a chance to win, you need to comment on all of the designer's blogs (list below). Then head on over to the SCRS blog and comment on the Leslie post. You have until midnight EST each day to comment. The lucky winner will be announced the following day!

June SFYTT!

Anyone else itching for a new Sketch for you to try??? Jen has a super fun sketch for us this month, and I know you're going to love it every bit as much as I do!

This month, we're being sponsored by Emily at Stamping Bella! How fun is that? I have a TON of Bella's that just love it when I let them out of their bag, lol! Today, I decided to play with "Rain-Never-Stopped-Me-Bella!

Isn't she fabulous? I colored her to match these papers from MME (Lime Twist collection) and then cut her out with a circle nestability. I cut the umbrella top out and mounted it seperately! I had SO much fun with this sketch, everything just went together so easily. That's how you know when you've got a good sketch;) I didn't even use ribbon! OMG! When is the last time I didn't use ribbon or twine? Or buttons for that matter? LOL!
The sentiment on this card comes with this Bella!
Thanks so much Emily for sponsoring us this month!

1. The SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY {SFYTT} will be posted on the first Saturday of each month on www.iheart2stamp.com at 8am EST and will stay open to participants until the last day of the month, unless otherwise noted.
2. This is for fun! Interpret the sketch as you wish and embellish as desired. There are no vendor restrictions, but we would love to see you use the sponsor’s stamps!

Taylored Expressions June Release Day!!!

Well folks, the big day is here! All the June stamps are now available, and you will love them! I've been lucky to be the Taylored Expressions guest designer for the past two month and get to play along on release day! I have a couple cards to share with you today, so let's get started...

I have to apologize for the bad lighting, they looked good when I took them this morning, but now that I'm editing, it's too dark to retake them, boo. Anyway, you can still see the amazing stamps, lol! I love the images, ALL of the images, in "A Day in Paradise" These stamps reminded me of a family vacation we took with my husbands sisters and their families, and his mom! We all rented a beach house in the Outer Banks in NC and had an amazing time! I can't wait till we can go back!! I wanted my chairs to be white-washed, so I just colored bits and pieces of the chair with my W2 copic marker. I airbrushed W3 on the cardstock to look like sand, but it didn't really show up very well in the picture. These papers are all from the Spring Break collection by SU! from a couple years ago I think.

Next up is a fun little card using the hay, fence, and rooster from Green Acres!

This card base measures 3.75x5.5. I like the slimmer width and think it worked out well with what I did on this card. I stamped the card base (Cherry Cobbler by SU!) with my Plaid backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms (Gosh I miss them!). I cut a label (MFT die) from kraft cardstock and piled the rest of the card on that label. I stamped, colored, and cut out three hay bales, the fence, and the rooster and layered them all up! I love this rickety old fence, very fun!! I created the banner with the It's a Banner Day 2 die and stamp set and stamped the "Hay There!" sentiment on the banner. I finished this one up with a scalloped edge, some twine, and a button!

Thanks so much for visiting me today! And a huge thanks to Taylor and her amazing Design Team for letting me play along this past couple months, it's been amazing! Don't forget to stop over on Taylor's Blog and get a list of the design team members playing along in the hop today!

DS4~Happy Hello

Good morning! Is everybody ready for the next Deconstructed Sketch? Well I have a feeling you're going to love this one...

This sketch has everything I love..ribbon...layers...brads/buttons...*happy sigh*

Here's my card using Rollerblading Chloe by Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps!

I really REALLY love this stamp, I mean...how can you NOT love sweet Chloe walking her happy puppy? It's kind of what mine look like when I take them on a walk, only they would be trying to catch that butterfly in their mouths, lol...loony puppies!

I stamped the image on Neenah cardstock using Tuxedo ink by Memento. I colored the image and then airbrushed the sky and grass with Copics. After I airbrushed the base layer of grass, I created blades by just feathering the marker with YG93, YG95 and YG99. I added some blooms just by dotting my R22 copic and really love the soft effect it had.

Here is a picture of the Copics I used for this card:

Make sure you head on over to Jen's blog so you can see the challenge details and see the rest of the DSDT girls samples! Thanks so much for stopping by today, enjoy your day!

Gettin' Sketchy with MFT!

Well, I just love the sketch this week over in the MFT forums! Super fun:)

I wanted to get my Hot Air Balloon on today so I pulled out "Inspired by Up Up & Away!"

The purple polka dot paper is from Cosmo's Mitten Weather stack and I also used Vintage Cream and Aqua Mist cardstock. I stamped the balloons in Pale Plum ink (SU!) and then cut one out and popped it up on dimensionals. The little heart and tag are from "Notched Tag Die and Stamp Set". I love the size of that tag, it's so cute! I stamped the sentiment from Up Up and Away by first stamping the "take me" and then stamping "away" underneath that, so it would fit. You can also see a bit of the new Double Scallop Die-namics peeking out from behind the circles, isn't that a gorgeous border???
I wish this wasn't such a femme card, I'd send it to my husband, lol! As much as he endures my girly cards, this one is too over the top, bahaha!

Thanks for stopping by today! I'll be back in a few hours with my Deconstructed Sketch sample!!

I inked up my favorite Independence Day set called "American Hero" today for this card and used Julee's Mojo Monday sketch for the week! That sketch is a little tougher than I thought it would be, lol! I had a hard time getting those pieces to fit together and they still don't fit perfectly but you can't see that part, right?;)

I also made a card using Dad's Day!

I pulled out my Pyrus papers from Basic Gray for this card, and even a little corrugated chipboard circle (made from an actual box, no money was spent on that circle, lol!) I must admit, I got the idea for this card after parusing Maile Belles blog. I kinda have a stamp crush on her, lol! Her eye for design is A*MAZING and I just loved THIS CARD that she did!
