Mojo Monday

I have some time on my hands, you know, with my husband gone for a couple weeks, so I thought it the perfect time to catch up on some stamping {not that I need time to make up, he's very supportive and lets me stamp all I want;)}! I absolutely *love* Julee's Mojo Monday #80 sketch this week, all those yummy layers are right up my alley!
My card base is Lemon Tart by PTI. I also used a piece of Kiwi Kiss dsp. LOVE that color! I accented with Night of Navy. The stamp sets I used are Floral Symphony and Beautiful Kindness by Verve. These new releases are so much fun, have you checked em out yet? If not, go on over and take a look, 8 new sets and 5 new Plain Janes! Also, make sure to head on over to the Verve Blog. The EGG-stra special blog hop is still going on and the diva's are really rockin!
I'm off to to watch Dancing with the Stars, have a fantastic Tuesday!

A Monday Challenge

Yes, there is no hiding from it, it's MONDAY! Well, my Monday is pretty much over *whew!*
Today, the other Monday chicks and myself are making cards with Cut Out Flowers! That means we could stamp flowers and cut them out, make hand made flowers, whateva! I chose to take the easy way out and let Unity do the word for me:D I love this little flower in the "you + me = happy" kit! It was super fun to cut these babies out:) In case you're wondering why this doesn't have my usual 19 layers, it's because I also used the CAS #08 challenge from Splitcoast. It was a card sketch to follow so I couldn't go too crazy;) This card is still CAS for me as it only took about 15 minutes to make frm the time I flipped the light switch on in my room to the time I took the picture:) I do love quickie cards!
Shoot it's bright though, huh? I'm not 100% sold on Tangerine Tango, but it's going bye bye here in a few months and I have a bunch to use up, lol! I added Crystal Ice Stickles on the flower centers and they're super sparkly! And of course my beloved butterfly punch, made by the great Martha Stewart *snicker* I don't really think she's great but she makes fab punches!
For more yummy cut out flower creations, check out my girls!
Okay, next card is for the Unity Sketch Challenge I posted today in the forums! Click --->HERE<--- to see the sketch and play along in the challenge!
Here's my card--
AWWW! Don't you love those sheep? I bet you can tell by now that I do, lol! The "Love Ewe" kit is so fun and adorable! I think I may send this to my mom just for fun:)
Hopefully your Monday's go smoothly, quickly, and it's not too cold for you! Have a fantastic week friends, see you tomorrow!

Wishing You...

is such a fantastic set! It's by Papertrey Ink! I got it last week and just now got around to playing with it:) I used the fabulous color combo from OCC this week! Only thing is I used Night of Navy instead of Not Quite Navy:( Bummer! Well, I think it still counts:D
The color combo is Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, and More Mustard! I used some blue Martha Stewart ribbon, white Dew Drops and a Photo Corner punch to liven it up:) If you can see the scallops on the bashful blue piece, that stamp is from Background Basics: Retro, also by PTI! Man do they make fun stamps:D

So hubby is in the states now, he'll be there for 2 weeks so I traded him for another lab:) Yup, I'm babysitting another cutie pie labby! He is HUMONGOUS! I'd say he's well over 100 lbs, he makes Luke (my yellow lab) look like a little anorexic dog! Check them out...
The two goofy looking dudes on the left are mine, Jesse and Luke. Sam is on the right, ain't he cute? He's REALLY white, only yellow on him are his ears:) He's like a big ole cuddly beer barrel, lol! So at least these three are keeping me on my toes while Billy is gone!
Well, I'm off to try to get my Twilight DVD to work, something is wonky on the blue ray player and it's makin me mad! I need my fix:D
Have a great Sunday!

April Viva la Verve has begun!

Is it spring time where you're at yet? Oki really only has two seasons I think, Summer and Spring/Fall...No real winter! I think the coldest it's gotten this year is maybe the low 50's/high 40's. And even though our weather is really pretty nice year round, I'm still getting spring fever:D I actually have summer fever because I can't wait to go to the beach! I'm losin my tan BIG TIME, lol!

So let me get back on track, hee hee! Even though it's still March, the 1st of April is next Wednesday so I am starting April's Viva la Verve challenges this week:) If you are new to VLV or have never heard of it before, let me fill you in!
**Every Friday, I post a sketch challenge with a {twist} in the Verve Member Company forums on Splitcoast! The {Twist} is an extra requirement along with the sketch, pretty fun and something different!
There will be 5 weeks of sketch challenges in April. Each week, play along with the sketch and {twist} and upload your card to your gallery/blog and link it to that week's Viva la Verve thread. There is no real time limit on the sketch cards except for they MUST ALL BE UPLOADED by MIDNIGHT EST on April 30th to be eligible for the BIG PRIZE! What is the big prize you ask? Well, the Fabulous Julee gives away the next months ENTIRE VERVE STAMPS RELEASE to the winner of Viva la Verve challenge! To be eligible, you must upload a card for every one of that months sketches. Make sense? If not, please feel free to contact me any time for a better explanation:)**
Okay, so I already posted this weeks sketch and {Twist} in the Verve Forums, but I thought I'd do it here as well:)
This week's {twist} is to use sentiment stamps only! With all the amazing sentiments and Plain Janes offered by Verve, there should be NO EXCUSE for you to not have SOMETHING to work with;) No image/background stamps are allowed for this challenge.
Easy enough right? Well here is the sketch:
It's a really fun one (if I do say so myself:D)
Here is my card for this sketch:
Do you love that sentiment? I do! It's from the set called "Beautiful You". This set is truly one of my favorites! It's a compilation of favorite quotes from all of the Verve Diva's! It's such a special set and I'll treasure it always:) The patterened paper is by PTI and is called Friends to the End. I also used Ripe Avacado and Plum Pudding cardstock and Ripe Avacado ribbon by PTI (yes, I totally love the PTI colors!!!)
Hope you can come play along with us! Click --->HERE<--- to go to the Viva la Verve, April Week One thread! When uploading your projects to public galleries, please use keywords Verve (if you're using Verve stamps) and VLVApr01! Also, please note that Verve stamps are not required to play along, but if you have them we'd love to see you use them:)
Viva la Verve!

May Day Hip Hop!

Are you wondering why we're focusing on May day on March 26th? Well we're just trying to get some ideas flowing for you so you'll be prepared! Are you not familiar with May Day? Neither was I, lol! Check out THIS link for a brief history.

The general idea is to create baskets and fill them with flowers, candy, treats, etc... and drop them off on a neighbors door step, hit the door bell, and RUN! Well, that's the modern day way to celebrate, but if you read that website it tells you how it originated:)
If you're new to the Hip Hop, start at Angela's blog and work your way through the DT blogs and when you reach the end, you will be eligible to win some Unity Sugar (blog candy)!!!

In honor of this holiday, I made a basket! I used a mytimeless template from PTI called Basket Basics. This basket is so fun!

I made the basket with a couple pieces of Bashful Blue cardstock. I created the basket trim out of Chocolate Chip cardstock that I cut with my scalloped lace edge punch by SU! I tied some Chocolate ribbon (PTI) and Basful Blue ribbon (SU!) Around the top and let a few lengths dangle around the basket. The stamp set I used is Love in the Air. This is really one of my favorites, I just *adore* that hot air balloon! I am going to give this basket to a friend of mine, we're having a "mommy shower" for her next weekend since she's having another boy. I decided I still wanted to make her something for Gabe (that's his name) so I'm going to go hunting for a white Onesie and will stamp this hot air balloon on it and roll it up and put it in the basket! I'll post that when I'm done with it cause I think it's going to be SO CUTE!

Have you heard about the WORLD'S LARGEST BLOG HOP yet??? If you haven't, click HERE for the thread to sign up! So far, we have well over 130 people signe up! That's going to be ONE GIANT BLOG HOP! All you *have* to do is use Unity Stamps on your project, post it by 10:00 am CST on 28 March 09 (This SATURDAY!) and enjoy the blog hop starting at 11:00 CST on the Unity Stamp Blog!

Only a couple more days to get your March KOM! This has been one of my favorites and I'm sure it's one you'll reach for again and again! Don't miss out on your opportunity to get this awesome kit for only 29.95 (24.95 for the kit, 5.00 for shipping). Click HERE to see how to join the KOM club!

It's all about Verve!

Did you get a chance to check out all the great stamp sets released by Verve this month? Julee is just incredible and every set released this month is a must have! Here are a few of my samples!
Practically Perfect (Using the VLVMar02 sketch)
This set has two adorable bunnies and lots of fun baby sentiments, perfect for anyone expecting!
Man, I am in love with this card and I'm not afraid to toot my own horn, lol! I love the mix of purple, Chocolate, Green, and Kraft! And that sentiment, isn't it a great one? At only $3 dollars a piece, the plain janes are an amazing deal! I got this sketch from Caardvarks, fun sketch!
I love this verse! It's one I used to memorize in Sunday School, I can still remember it, GO ME!! LOL! And isn't that cross beautiful? I love the flourishes! I used Mojo Monday Sketch 78 for the layout, another fab sketch by Julee!
Okay, the last one for the day is my sample for the Viva la Verve March Week 4 sketch! Using Everlasting Life and the Happy Easter Plain Jane:
The twist for this weeks sketch is to use ONLY ONE embellishment! It's tough, but you can do it;) To see the sketch and play along in the challenge, see {THIS} thread.
Well that's it for me today, my honey and I are going out with some friends for dinner and fun! I'll be back tomorrow:)
Have a great weekend!

Hippity Hoppity...

Hello hip hoppers! Are you having fun on your little hunt?:) Hopefully you are being inspired by all the talent the ladies are sharing today! Make sure you start at the Unity blog and hop through all of the DT blogs. Remember, your mission-should you choose to accept it-is to hop through all the blogs and collect as many "EGGS" as you can! Count em' all up and you could win BIG!
How much do you love the new release by Lindsey Spencer? I love it A-LOT! It's called Love Ewe, so cute! I also love this egg-stra cute heart background stamp! It's called Hearts of Old. I tried to keep this card eastery by using Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, and Pale Plum, love these soft colors:) The flowers are by Petaloo and the brad is by Basic Gray. I added some Raspberry Ice Stickles to the sheep, it's just kinda hard to see in the photo:)

Along with this new release, I recently recieved my beloved March KOM, Simple Life. This is one spectacular kit! You simply MUST go buy it;)
This window stamp and sentiment are a couple of my favorites...
I also used the sketch challenge and color challenge from last week for this card.

I also made this card using the KOM, I think these trees and the sentiment are so fun!
I used some yummy Cosmo Cricket "Chemistry" paper for this one!

Well, I'm sure you have some more hopping to do, so I hope you're having an EGGSTRA fantastic time! Your next stop is the super fantastic Heather Brown!

Happy Hip Hop ya'll, see you in the forums:)

I'm baaaaack!

Did you even notice that I was gone? LOL! Well I was, and this is where I was at!
St. Louis baby! I had a connvention to attend for work and boy was it BORING! It was an Environmental, Safety, and Occupatioal Health Conference, doesn't that sound fun? NOT! The best part was the shopping and food afterwards, lol! I also got to meet my friends Christi and Robyn! They were a HOOT and we had so much fun together!!!
Okay, well as you can imagine I am battling jet lag something awful so I'm just going to get down to business if thats okay with you? Great:)
Today is Monday and the chicks and I decided to create Grandparent cards! Apparently, there IS a grandparents day (I thought everyday was grandparents day???) isn't until the 13th of September, so I made a card for my Grandma, her bday is in May! That's sooner than September, lol!
The stamp set I used is called Women of Life by Papertrey Ink. Such a fun set:)
Check out what my other girls made for grandparents day!
My next card is for this weeks Viva la Verve challenge! I designed 14 sketches while sitting through the lectures in last weeks convention, bwahahaha! I guess if nothing else, the conference gave me great inspiration for sketches;) So this sketch came together just as easy as I was hoping! Such a fun sketch, check it out and all the details HERE!
That yummy paper is by Bo Bunny! I got it at the LSS in St. Louis that Christi and Robyn took me too, awesome store! The stamp sets are BRAND NEW from Verve! Just released last week:) The butterfly is from Beautiful Kindness and the sentiment is from Circular Sayings.
You know what I just noticed, I didn't even edit these pics in photoshop yet. And now it's too late and I'm too lazy so hopefully they look okay on your screen, lol! awww well, I'm blamin it on jet lag:)
Be back tomorrow with more! TA!

Hip + Hop = FUN!

It also equals HIP HOP!!:) I guess by now you know our theme for today is what makes you happy! One thing that makes me happy is new releases! This new kit, called You + Me = Happy, by Tanis is so cute, you'll adore it:) I masked the little turtle so it would look like they're hugging, awww!

Okay, besides new rubber, lots of things make me happy! Right now, a plane ticket to the US this Saturday makes me happy! I'm going to miss Billy and the dogs but I am SO ready for a little american culture:D I'll be going to St. Louis for a symposium for my job. Not a really fun class, but at least I'll get some shopping and food in before I have to come back to Oki:) There are a couple other guys from here on base coming with me, but I plan on shopping and I'm sure they don't, lol!

I just went and had my nails filled and the woman put like 4 zillion coats of polish on and they still aren't really dry so I gotta make this short, lol! Check out the Unity Blog for today's new release and any specials and then when you're all done Hip Hoppin, come chat in the Unity Forums!! Your next stop on today's journey is Ms. Robyn! I am hoping to meet this sweetie pie when I get to St. Louis! Maybe I can sweet talk her into takin me to a LSS if there is one around;) Heehee...

That awesome flower stamp is from one of the newest release kits called "Rain and Flowers" and has some of the cutest images EVAH! I love all the fun details to color on that tulip:) I stamped by Just Polka Dots background in Versamark on all four strips of cardstock (Color inspiration from KWereners CC #43 this week!).
