August KOM HIP HOP!

Oh yeah, you read that right! The HIP HOP this week is ULTRA special because we're peaking stamps from the August 09 KOM. I have 3 fun cards to share today!

The first one I created for Christi's Apron Inspired Challenge! I just adored the apron photo she chose and immediately thought of my Basic Grey Lemonade paper that hasn't been used NEARLY as much as it should be:) Don't you love the Joy Tree? I do! It makes me HAPPY! So does PTI Rustic Cream cardstock, it's the new white!:) Oh, and that ribbon? YUMMO! Hydrangea's anyone? DOUBLE YUMMO! *sigh* I love this hobby of ours:)

My next card was created using this weeks Sketch Challenge on SCS...
Again, FABBY stamps from the August KOM, I adore that fluttering heart, so sweet:) I was making a card to give DH but this one turned out WAY to girly, lol!

My last card was just a fun one, I wanted to use this bird on a branch stamp so badly and found this simple layout really worked for it...

And I just love that sentiment, sweet nothin's. So sweet:) THIS is the card I decided to give DH, it's a little manlier than the other one, hehee.

Okay, well, I know you're ready to go hop for more August KOM inspiration! So I'm sending you off to the lovely ***JEANNE!***

Some yellow love!

Okay I'm on a yellow kick today! I've been really loving earthy neutrals lately, and pairing them with yellow and chocolate is just WHAMMO! Total love:)
This first card, I CASE'd Dawn's Blog Hop card seen in this post HERE. I was completely in awe of the layers of the background and had to recreate it. I loved it so much that I needed to use the same colors and stamps, lol! I also added the flower and sentiment from Friends 'til the End.
Don't you LOVE that? I can be arrogant about it because I didn't design it, Dawn did, lmbo! She's a genious and I had so much fun CASE'ing this card of hers!
My next card is for last weeks CPS sketch (CPS125)! I loved the layers and big ole' main panel circle! I also busted out a new SU! set called Herb Expressions. Whatcha think?
The dp is from the Ever After line by Cosmo Cricket (nope, still not out of it, so you'll be seeing more, lol!)
Man, I had fun with this one:) Rustic Cream cardstock, rustic buttons, jute string, it just doesn't get much better than that:D
What kind of yellow love would it be without a pic of my yellow lab? Luke! And I couldn't just post a pic of him, have to put his lil brother in there too, Jesse! Aren't they just the cutest thangs EVAH??? OMG I LOVE THEM!
Hope you're enjoying your day! My week has flown by and the weekend is near, so I'm a happy girl:) See ya tomorrow!!

Trick or Treat! HiP HoP!!

Today's HIP HOP is all about Halloween, however, instead of a halloween treat, I have a halloween trick for you, lol! I don't have the particular halloween kit being showcased today so I played with my fun July KOM instead! I can't tell you how much fun I've had with this months KOM, the images are just TOOOOO FUN! If this is your first Hip HOp, start out on the Unity Blog and then hop through the 20 DT blogs for some halloween inspiration:)

For this card, my card base is Pink Pirhouette. The dp is actually digi paper, from the kit called Cherry Sweet by Sweet Shoppe Designs. I just loooove digi paper! You can print it over and over and over and over and over and....well you get the point, lol!
I stamped the sweet posies and the sentiment on another piece of PP and layered it on top of the polka dots. Some Sweet Blush ribbon (PTI) and a hydrangea flower (Prima) finish this lil beauty off:)
For this card, I really wanted to play with the pocket from the KOM! isn't it fun? I stamped it on a piece of Old Olive dsp and then cut it out. I poofed the middle up a bit so it looks like it's stuffed, lol! The leaf punch is by EK Success.

Well, I gotta make the bed before hubs tries to go to sleep and sees he's got no sheets or comforter, lol! I'm going to send you on your merry way to visit the wonderful ***ROBYN***!!! HIP HOP!

Monday Monday.

And what a beautiful Monday it was! Sunny, HOT, and just an all around good day:)
Got some stampin done when I got home from work! TWO cards, woohoo! The first one is for today's Monday Challenge Chicks challenge. Today's theme was simple, BIRTHDAY cards! FUNNY story about this. I have literally HUNDREDS of cards just laying around my scrapbook room (ask christy, she witnessed the blasphemy that is unsent cards!). Mother-in-laws bday on Saturday. So I start thrashing through my card stacks and guess what? I found like THREE bday cards! And they were all "kiddy" and I didn't feel right about sending those! So I finally found one that was good enough but still not ideal. This weeks challenge is just what I needed. I'm only making bday cards this week, obviously I need them, lol!
I used paper from the Citronella pack by K&Co. The flower stamp is from the July KOM by Unity and the sentiment is from On a Pedestal by SU! The card base is Pink Pirouette and the purple is Lovely Lilac by SU! I'm not sure how many of the other girls are able to play today but click on the following links to check em out:)
This next card is for this weeks CAS challenge on Splitcoast: Turqouise, Yellow, and Orange. What a fun color combo huh? It SCREAMS summer time:)
This card was alot of fun to make, sometimes *sometimes* CAS can be fun;)
The stamp set I used is called Beach Days and Sun rays by Unity Stamp Co.
Well I'm off to enjoy the rest of the evening with hubs, have a great Monday!

July Digiments release

The new July release by Digiments has come! Michelle has some really awesome digiments (digital sentiments) this month and a SUPER deal. Peep this: Digiments are priced at $1 each with a $5 minimum purchase- or you can buy the entire set of 24 Digiments for only $10. That's huge my friends:) The awesome thing about digital sentiments is the ability to resize to whatever you want/need. Sometimes you need a really big size for a scrapbook page and sometimes a smallish one for a card, digital is the way to go:)
Here are a couple samples I made:
This one uses the serenity prayer, I love it:) I colored the stamp (by Penny Black) with prismacolors and OMS. You cant' tell, but I painted some Red Shimmerz on the flower centers.
This card uses the Congratulations sentiment for a new baby, LOVE the font Michelle chose this month! The flourishy cursive font is really sweet for a baby card, doncha think?:)
Well, head on over to the Digiments Blog for more samples from the DT and to see the rest of the wonderful digiments being released!
Have a great day, see ya tomorrow!

What a beautiful day to...

HIP HOP!!! w00ooot! It's Thursday night, I'm havin some wine with my sweetie, I stamped, I have tomorrow off (OH YEAH!), and it's HIP HOP THURSDAY! If you've just happened upon my blog by mistake or if you forgot today is Hip HOP then start off at the Unity Blog and work your way through the blogs of the fantastic DT for some super eye candy:) Today we're showcasing the set that YOU THE CUSTOMER put together! It's called "Hodgepodge of Happiness" And I gotta say, you chicks do a MI-T-FINE job putting a kit together;) This has to be one of my all time faves, I'm sure you'll be seeing A-LOT more of this kit on this here blog-o!
My first card uses the sweet tree image and the sentiment that coordinates with the mailbox image...
Isn't it so cute? I colored it with Copics and then for the sentiment panel, I cut a piece of cardstock with my new Slice Studio Essentials cartridge! That thang is SO fun, lots of fun shapes to cut with it:) I also got Labels 3 and the new border dies from spellbinders! The ribbon is by PTI and the paper is Cherry Hill by October Afternoon (Gorgeous paper!)
My next card also uses stamps from Hodgepodge of Happiness! I used the fun retro circles stamp and the notebook page stamp:
I stamped the retro stamp in Fresh Snow (PTI) on Kraft cardstock. The ribbon is Plum Pudding, also by PTI, as is the "Friends Forever" dp!
My last card for today uses the July KOM,
I used the sentiment, arrow, and sentiment frame. The dp was printed off my computer! I went on a shopping spree at Sweet Shoppe Designs. The dp is from Top of the Word, I love the bright colors and just thought it was so appropriate for this sentiment:) The ribbon is Tangerine Tango by SU! and the gorgeous hydrangeas you've been seeing me use are by none other than Prima!

So have you been having fun on your hop today? There is still a little ways to go so I'm going to send you onward to the fabulous ***WeNDY!!!***

HIP HOP and have a fabulous day:)

Jacksonbelle Sketch

I had some free time today to stamp after dinner so I searched around for a fun challenge and spotted this weeks JBelle Sketch! It looked like a fun one so I jumped in:) I got my SU! order a couple days ago and have been wanting to play with them so I pulled out Pendent Park for this card.
Isnt' that tree GORGEOUS? I fell in love with this set immediately because I loved it so:) It also has a cute park bench, which I stamped very lightly just below the tree, can barely see it. I sponged Frayed Burlap distress ink on the stamped image and the dp. The border stamp on the bottom and sentiment are also from the set. The dp is by October Afternoon, and the orange cardstock is by Core-dinations! That stuff is AWESOME for distressing (which I've really been into the past week or three:)
That's all I have to share today, I'm not feeling super chatty for once! Lucky you:) It won't last though, so don't get used to it.
:) Have a fantastic day! MWAH!

Fun with backgrounds

Today, the monday chicks are creating backgrounds from stamps! I didn't stamp a background with many little stamps, just one great big one, lol! I'm sure I'm cheating a bit, but I got my new SU! order today and couldn't wait to play with this Medallion stamp!
Isn't it beautiful? I actually loved this card so much that I gave it to DH right away, I didn't want it sitting in a pile of cards with all the other lonelies! This one deserved to be loved;)
I stamped the Medallion background in Momento Rich Cocoa ink on Rustic Cream cardstock (PTI) and then roughed the edges up a bit. I sewed it to the chocolate chip card base for a little more texture. I wanted the card to be CAS but you know how I love my little details! Embellishing a card is my favorite part! I know it's kinda hard to see, but I added some rhinestones on the inside of the medallion, it looks so sharp IRL! The sentiment is from none other than Verve Stamps. Feeling Groovy is one of my favorite sentiment sets because of all the fun sentiments to use for cards for your sweet husband:) I still get choked up when I read this sentiment, I can just hear the gorgeous song playing, that one does me in! This set is definately an emotional one for me. "I've finally found a love of a lifetime" is another favorite. I remember when I was dating Billy, I would play this song over and over again. I burned a cd of love songs for him (SO corny, I KNOW! But he loved it, and still has it:) and this was one of the songs on the cd. Awwww....
OKAY enough sappies:) One more card! Again, cheating! Oh well, hopefully I won't get fired from the Monday chicks:D I thought it would be fun to stamp these circles from Circle Circus by SU! and then layer them on the background paper. The colors Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, and Baja Breeze coordinate perfectly with this paper (which I can't for the life of me remember who it's by!) I stamped all the different circles in different colors, cut them out, and them popped them up! The sentiment is from another SU! set but I can't remember which one right now.

Folk Art Lovin!

Today, Kelly aka Schirmcat on SCS, was the Featured Stamper! Her gallery is awesome and I had fun browsing:) As soon as I saw THIS beauty, I knew it was the card I wanted to case! I automatically thought of all the fun folksy stamps in the July KOM, A Pocket Full of... by Unity.
The card base is Chocolate Chip and then I layered a piece of Rustic Cream by PTI. The fun gingham paper is from a kit by Sweet Shoppe Designs. I can't remember right now which one it was, but I'll link it up once I find it, lol! I scraped it up with my Heidi Swapp edge distressor and then stuck it down. The main stamped image and the "Love" sentiment are from the July KOM by Unity. I also HAD to add that yummalicious ribbon by Making Memories! Isn't it so gorgeous? Love that ribbon, MUST GET MORE!
Well folks, it's Sunday night here, that means tomorrow is Monday *ugh.* It's okay though, I am going to be SO busy at work so the day should ZOOOOOM by!
Have a wonderful rest of your weekend! See ya tomorrow with something *I don't know what, but something, lol!*

A new little Oodabug...

Have you heard the news? Charmaine is havin' herself a lil' baby! Isabelle should arrive any day now, isn't that exciting? I wish you ALL the blessings in the world Charmaine, and many happy happy memories with your new little one:)
Today we’re celebrating our new little Diva with a suprise shower hop! So come along with us and do the hop, hop, hop! This shindig started at the Verve Stamps blog, so if you’ve just happened along, be sure to hop on over there to start from the beginning!
I created a card for Charmaine using Practically Perfect! I can think of no better set to use for such a precious occasion:)
I colored the sweet little bunny in with Copics and then {this is the part I'm really loving!} I added the tiny pearls from Kaiser on the little stamped pearls, they fit perfectly! The striped dp is from the Sweet Stack by DCWV. I also used circle Nestabilities and Labels 4 nestabilities. I've been enjoying layering different shapes:)
The ribbon is Lavendar Moon by PTI.
Well, thanks for stopping by! Now hop on over to {{Lynda's blog}} for some more cuddly goodness!

Viva la Verve!

Today is Friday and you know what that means:) Another twisted sketch in the Verve Forums!
Here's this weeks sketch
The twist this week is to find fun ways to incorporate scored lines in your cards! I love to do this but hardly ever remember to do it!
Here's my sample...
I stamped the sentiment from Beautiful Kindness in Rich Cocoa (Momento ink) and cut it out with one of my curved rectangle Nestabilities. The patterned paper is from K&Co, I love this paper, it's from the Wild Raspberry line I think:) The ribbon and button are by PTI. You can see where I scored lines, on the top and bottom of my card! I then sewed in between the scored lines for more texture.
Would you like to play along with us? Visit {THIS} thread for details!
Thanks for stopping by, Viva la VERVE!!!

End of the HIP HOP TRAIL!

Well you made it to the end of the Hip HOp! Good for you:D How'd you like a chance to win a special stamp set? I BET YOU WOULD!
BUT FIRST, I have to get my cards out of the way, so we can get to the fun stuff, lol! We're featuring the July KOM or the new kit called Framed Alpha! Now, I don't have the alpha yet, but I do LOOOVE my July KOM!
This bird is seriously the cutest thing ever, it's just very whimsical and folksy! Adorable:)
I used some of my new Basic Gray (Lemonade) paper, aren't the colors gorgeous? I sponged Scattered Straw distress ink around all pieces for this card for a vintage feel. I also love this sentiment, it's great for giving to a friend you may have had a little argument with, I do that now and then, lol!
My next card is using last months KOM Incentive kit, Bevy of Butterflies. I truly hope this set makes a debut sometime in the future for those of you who didn't get it because it is an amazing set, by Lisa Hetrick. That woman is a wonderful artist! And it has the sweetest story behind it, so touching:)
Anyhoo, here's my card...
The card base is the embossed dots cardstock by Bazzill! I got this stuff a few months ago when I got to hang out with Christi and Robyn in St. Louis! We had so much fun shopping together, those girls are fab:)
I clear embossed the butterflies and then sponged several different Ranger Distress Inks over it to make them pop! Totally fun technique, especially if you don't mind getting your fingers inky *which I happen to LOVE!*
Okay, well, now's your chance to win! Leave a comment here for your chance to win Bright and Merry Winter Wishes!
I just received mine in the mail a couple days ago and haven't had the chance to play with it yet, but I can tell you these are some fantastic stamps! Can't wait for Christmas, lol!

Good luck and HIP HOP! See ya in the forums!!

Fun stuff!

Hiya peeps! Long time no blog, I know! SO busy at work this week, good thing it's almost Thursday for me! I have a couple cards to share with you today. The first one is for this weeks Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoast. Holy cow, Sandra (B-Gin-R on SCS) has one SERIOUSLY fabulous gallery, I had the hardest time choosing a card to CASE so I just said "Okay, 5th page, 3rd card on the 2nd row, that's the card I'm gonna CASE" LOL! You know it's bad when it comes to that, ha!

I "decided" to CASE THIS beautiful card, here's my version (not nearly as pretty but it'll do!)
The stamped image is by Rachelle Anne Miller, it's called "Giving Shelter" and I think it's just about the cutest thing EVAH! The sentiment is from PTI from a set called Mixed Messages (the original, not mega!) I stamped it on a little tag I cut out with my cuttlebug! The image is colored with Copics! Get your Copics HERE!!! Eclectic Paperie also has all the new Pale colors in! While other online stores are already sold out, EPaperie still has some and they're a super good price! Get them while you can, these puppies are going like hot cakes! I can't wait to get mine:)
I used Razzleberry Lemonade dp (by SU!), Melon Mambo cs (SU!) and Sweet Blush cardstock and ribbon (PTI).
Next card is one I made for the Stamping Bella challenge last week, to make a SUMMER card! No problem there, I pulled out my sweet Poppy Bittybloom and went to town!
I colored her in with red Copics and then painted some Shimmerz on the actual flower for a little, well, shimmer!:)
The paper is by Cosmo Cricket, it's the Everafter collection, LOVE. THIS. STUFF. I could use it on every card I make!
The sentiment is by Unity from a set called "Beach Days and Sun Rays".

Well, that's all I have for today, it's getting to be my bed time:)
Have a great hump day! See ya tomorrow for some HIP HOP FUN!!!!!!!

Another Viva la Verve {twisted} sketch challenge

Every Friday I draw up a sketch and come up with a fun twist for the Viva la Verve sketch challenge for Verve Stamps!
This week, I think I really stumped the girls. It's a technique {twist} and what I thought might be a couple fun techniques to try turned out to be a couple tough ones? Either way, sorry about that, lol! I was trying to be nice, ha!
I chose to showcase the Poppin' Pastels and Burned Batik techniques. These are a couple really fun techniques and I created a card using both! Click on the technique names above to be taken to the SCS Tutorial for the techniques.
Here are my cards!
This one is for the Poppin' Pastels technique. The leaves are stamped in Versamark and then I went over them with my SU! Pastels:
The leaves are from Forever in Our Hearts and the verse is from 1 Peter 5:7. Such a beautiful verse, I've always loved it:)
The next card is quite brigh IRL and quite fun:) I used the Burned Batik technique. This was really fun and I'm sure to use it again!
I stamped the background from Artful Elegance in Versamark, embossed it with clear ink, sprayed with water and then sponged Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo on it! The stamps are from Miracles Blossom.
If you want to try one of these techniques and the sketch, I encourage you to try out this weeks Viva la Verve challenge:)

On another note, I went to my dear dear friend Christy's house today! We had fun stampin, listening to her iPod, and chattin the morning away! I would have stayed for HOURS longer but I'm in prison today (on call) and had to be home at noon. Darn it! It's all good though, we're gonna go see The Proposal tomorrow, I'm excited:)
While she stole my Cuttlebug and Nestabilities for a couple hours, I made this card!
It's Yoko & Ono by Stamping Bella! Aren't they CuuuuuuuUUUUUuute??? SUPAH!
The paper is by PTI, it's called Green Leaves. I also used some borrowed-from-Christy-but-not-really-cause-she-can't-use-em-anymore-flat back bon-bons by Stamping Bella! Those babies are fun and I'm gonna buy some for ME!
One last card, just cause I'm in a good mood and had TONS of stamping time today since I was in prison {aka on-call}...
It's Flamenca Ketto! Ain't she adorable? I colored her with Copics and used BSC78 for the sketch layout:) The sentiment is from Filigree Fantasy by Verve, I kinda curled it under, it looks cool IRL but you can't really tell from the picture!
Well, that's it for me today, I'll be back with more tomorrow:) Thanks for coming by, have a great Saturday!

July KOM Hip Hop!

Hello Unity Addicts! I wish I had some fun July KOM stamps to share with you, but I some other stuff came up and I didn't have time to get them done, grr!
I do have a couple fun cards to share though, so it's not a TOTAL loss;)
For this first card, I used Bevy of Butterflies! OMG I think this is my new favorite Unity kit EVAH! And the sad thing is, it was only available last month to new KOM subscribers! The good news is that this months KOM incentive kit is equally FABULOUS! Stylin Stars is definately going to be another favorite;) Better get your KOM this month so you can get Stylin Stars!
The background stamp on the Melon Berry piece is Tea Time Toile. Another of my old favorites. It's a timeless background that can be used for so many styles of cards!
My next card uses stamps from Everyday Adorable!
The card base is Rustic Cream by PTI (my favorite cardstock at the moment!) The dp is by K&Co, it's a gorgeous line, I wish I could remember what it was called! I used CPS 121 for the layout of my card.
Well I'm going to send you on your way to the lovely and talented ***Shemaine!*** I can't wait to see what she has in store for us:)
HIP HOP!
