DS49-Happy Birthday!

The Deconstructed Sketch DT

Another week has come and gone, and it's already THURSDAY! Yeesh, these weeks are zoomin'! Well, it's okay with me because every THURSDAY we get a new sketch to deconstruct...or something like that! LOL! Here's this week's fabby dabby sketch!

Check out the banners...oh yeah! You read my mind!

I think this bday card could be good fora dude or a dudette! Isn't it great how all colors can be feminine if you want them to? I love that, heehee! That being said, I'll probably save this one for a man card, I don't have enough in my stash! I pulled out a bunch of Verve for this card...

The dp is MME's Happy Go Lucky and I also used white, black, Hawaiian Shores and Simply Chartreuse cardstock. The ribbon banners were die cut with the new Ribbon Banner tag die and stamped with the coordinating ribbon stamp from Super Dad! The buttons are from Sunny Days, I need to use them more often, I love the look! The sentiment is the Happy Birthday Plain Jane (this stamp is only $2.55!!!) and was stamped on the Lovely Marquee die. I layered this panel on a tag cut out with the Classy Label die. Fun fun!

Okay, now you simply HAVE to go visit my teammates, they rock and I know you'll love what they have to share with you!

SCRS #78-Sketch Challenge

scrsc78

Good morning! It's time for a new Sparkle Creations Challenge! This week, we have an awesome sketch for you to play with! Here's a bigger picture of the sketch:
scrsc78 - sketch

Here's my card using the adorable "Mr. & Mrs."

The card base is Soft Stone by PTI. The purple is PTI's new Winter Wisteria, it's such a beautiful purple, love it! I also used the dark gray, forgot the name of it, and the matching dp! Okay back to the adorable image! This is Mr. & Mrs. Don't you just love it? I colored it with Copics and tried to keep the colors nice and soft. I cut the banners with MFT's Fish Tale die-namics. The sentiment comes with the Mr. & Mrs. stamp and was stamped on another piece of cardstock cut with a fish tale Die-namics. I added some rhinestones and a flower to finish it off.

Please visit the Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Blog for a list of all the girls playing along! You'll also find details on how to play along and what you can win!!
Thanks so much for stopping by today:)

April Diva Dare!

It's back! The Diva Dare, that is, and I'm up today on the Verve Blog!

This month we dare you to make a card, project, layout, or whatever fits your stamping style using this month's theme - All Aboard!   It has been Grand Central Station around here lately, Julee gave birth to two beautiful baby boys and has had her hands full!  So I am challenging you to use chipboard, corrugated cardboard, or kraft on your creation or project!  We can't wait to see how you answer the dare!
Stay tuned to learn how you could win some shiny new Verve!!

I pulled out my Super Dad, Purely SentimentalRibbon Banner die to create this graduation card!

The card base was embossed with a star folder from Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby). I cut three chipboard banners out with the Ribbon Banner die and then stamped the banner image from Super Dad on all three. Next I stamped the sentiment, from Purely Sentimental, and the stars (also from Super Dad)! You know I couldn't stop there, so I added some buttons, a bow, and some silver flat backs.

I gave a little tutorial on the Verve Blog for how to make all those different sized banners with the Ribbon Banner tag! Check it out here!

Viva la Verve! Super Dad

I have a fun card to share today for this week's Viva la Verve sketch challenge! Shannan is our hostess this month and has come up with a super fun, super mod sketch! Don't be afraid of it, embrace it:)

Here's my card:

I wanted to make this one pretty clean cut and masculine so that's the direction I went. I wish I would have taken a picture of how I created the "arrows", but basically, I cut a banner using the Ribbon Banner die, and then cut the banner down a little bit and was left with these arrows. I sure love that die!

The "Happy Father's Day" sentiment is from Purely Sentimental and the "Best Dad Ever" is from Super Dad.

Come on over to the Verve forums to play along! There is a HUGE prize up for grabs:)

DS48-Thanks a Bunch!

The Deconstructed Sketch DT

It's time for another Deconstructed Sketch! I bet you're just itchin' to see it, aren't you? Well feast your eyes on this work of sketchy art!

Oh yeah...another favorite!!! I had JUST the idea for this sketch, too!

We recently had a new release over at Verve and I used a whole pile of it on this card!
The papers are from MME's Howdy Doody line, I love the colors in this paper pad!! I stamped the flourish from Small Celebrations in Crumb Cake ink on the ivory rectangle and then layered blooms in the center. The blooms were stamped using Joyful Blooms and diecut using the new Joyful Blooms die set! I got this idea from Amy's Card, isnt' it gorgeous (Amy's card that is, haha)??

I glued some buttons in the centers of the flowers. The sentiment is also from Joyful Blooms and was stamped on a banner cut with the new Ribbon Banner die. The butterfly is stamped using the All Aflutter PJ and cut with the All Aflutter die set. The smaller butterfly was cut with vellum and stamped with the small butterfly from Twitterpated

Make sure to visit my teammates, they're amazing and I'm sure they're going to blow you away with their creations! Thanks for stopping by today!!

Verve Preview Spotlights Day 3-Release Day!!

We've finally made it to release day, hooray! I bet you've got your lists already made and you're ready for the sets to hit the store, aren't you? I just know you're going to love everything released this month!
New Stamps & Dies coming April 13

I have three more cards to share today! I was just SO inspired by this months stamps that I couldn't help but crank out a ton of cards:)
This one would be fun for a tween/teen girl birthday card!
I love the wild, bold colors and know just who this one will go to! The background was created with the image from Small Celebrations stamped in different colored Impress Fresh Inks! The tag is cut out with the Sweet Scallop Tag and I stamped the circle flourish stamp (also from Small Celebrations) in black ink. The sentiment I cut out with a circle punch and mounted on dimensionals!

This next one was also created with images from Small Celebrations.
Can you tell I love this set? I stamped the flourish circle image in pink ink on the pink card base. I pulled out my Sweet Scallop Tag again and stamped the circle flourish (careful to line it up with the one previously stamped on the pink cardstock) and a fun sentiment! I finished this card off with some butterflies punched with the All Aflutter die set!

Last but not least is a card with my beloved Ribbon Banner Die!
You know, you can use this die to create a long banner, simply by cutting TWO (or three or four or however long your card will allow!) and cover the seams! I love having this die because I always cut my banners crooked, now it's fool proof! The sentiment is from Purely Sentimental and the flourish circle from Small Celebrations.

Well I hope you've enjoyed our release this month and that you get your inky paws on every single new set and die! You will NOT regret this purchase;) Thanks so much for stopping by my blog all week and all your sweet comments:) I read and appreciate EVERY one of you!!

Don't forget to comment on all the Diva's blogs today! The grand prize today is the ENTIRE release, so don't skip a single blog! Even WE don't know who's blog is the winner!!
Here's the hop order in case ya get lost in the land of inspiration;)

Verve Preview Spotlights Day 2

Hello! This is my 2nd post for today, so if you're looking for my Sparkle Creations previews, please scroll down! Thanks so much:)
New Stamps & Dies coming April 13

So how are you liking the peeks so far? Pretty amazing release right? And it's only getting better, baby! Today we're previewing more fabulous sets and a new and...okay for lack of better word I'll use it again...a new AMAZING die!

First up I have the card I'm planning to give my pops on Father's Day! Using the new Super Dad set and the new Ribbon Banner Die, this card was a breeze!
I had so much fun making this card:) The star paper is from Jillybean Soup and the red polka dot paper is from EP! I created a rosette with MFT's rosette die and then layered the sentiment on top. I stamped two Ribbon Banners and then cut them out along the stamped line an then adhered them to another banner die I cut out with blue cardstock. The stars are from Super Dad as well and I thought they were a fun little detail to add.

Up next is a fun card I made for this week's Deconstructed Sketch!

These papers are from Jillybean Soup's Dutch Mustard collection! I used the new Ribbon Banner Die for the three rectangle panels and created a banner that I strung together with twine and buttons! The sentiment is from Small Celebrations:)

One last card to share, using the new Fringe Flower PJ and Small Celebrations!
I cut out two labels using the Curvy Bookplate die and then stamped the matching bookplate stamp from Tag Time and the sentiments from Small Celebrations and Purely Sentimental. I stamped the Fringe Flower on dp and then cut them out by hand (hand-cutting is very theraputic for me, I can sort of shut my brain off and focus on the lines, lol!) The dp is from MME and I did some distressing, some random sewing, and a couple buttons and brads!
**************************************************
Well, that's about it, I hope you were inspired by something here today, and if not...well there are tons more blogs for you to visit because these ladies will SURELY inspire you:) I'm the last one on the hop so you're at the end of the line!

10. Amber Hight

One lucky commenter from each day's hop will win the sets and dies featured that day, so be sure and leave a little love in the Divasphere! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize details and deadlines.

I think this release is very serendipitous as baseball season has finally arrived! So excited, hubby and I try to catch the games whenever they come on and I'm really looking forward to seeing the DBacks play here in Phoenix!!

The papers are from MME's Dilly Dally collection! I get all my papers from Eclectic Paperie! They have *the* best customer service, I ordered on Sunday and my goodies were here this morning (Wednesday morning)...gotta love a box full of new MME paper pads *sigh*
I used Sweet Stop Sketch #81, for their 3rd anniversary challenge!

There are three different sized bloom dies to match the different size stamps. There are also a bunch of fun sentiments in the set! The papers are from Lilybean Designs, and the sketch is from iSpy Sketches!

Okay, that's all I have for today, thanks SO much for stopping by! Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win today's stamps and dies! Your next stop is the amazing and lovely ANDREA!!

Sparkle Creations Challenge #77-So Cool!

Hello, hello! I have a card for this week's Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge! This week, we have a color challenge that will have you pulling out your summery paper pads!!
scrsc77

I SUPER love these colors together and had so much fun making my card!

This is Soda Jenny and I'm pretty sure she's the most adorable little thing ever:) She's on sale too, only $3.50!! I colored her up and then set about trying to figure out what papers to use! I had my pad of Dots and Stripes paper from EP sitting on my table and it just so happens that the colors were absolutely PERFECT for this challenge!

I used the Mojo Monday #214 sketch for this layout, it's an oldie but a goodie;)

Thanks so much for stopping by today, stop by the SCRS blog for challenge details and a list of team mates playing along this week!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #123-Tag Time

Hey there! I had a WONDERFUL Saturday fill with Kraftiness, how about you? I made a ton of cards today, but some are for future deadlines, so I'll be posting then eventually, lol! I did make a couple cards just for fun! Including this one for this week's Kraftin' Kimmie challenge, to use a TAG!

This is Lulu from Lulu & Friends! How ADORABLE is she? Look at those knobby knees! SO cute:) I used last weeks' sketch from SCS (#378) for the layout, and stamped a sentiment on a circle punch that I turned into a tag!

I colored Lulu with Copics to match this paper from October Afternoon (Report Card). I did the out of the box technique to cut her out with a rectangle die, while keeping the umbrella out of the die. I really LOVE this card and this stamp set!

April SFYTT Sponsored by TSG!

Hello! The first Saturday of the month means a brand new SFYTT!!

This month, we're being sponsored by a super fun company, There She Goes!
View TSG Logo 300.jpg in slide show

If you are new to “SFYTT,” it stands for SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY. I didn’t think that I would be doing this for the past several years, or I would have been a little more clever with the title of it! LOL!
Hopefully you have caught onto the new-ish format that we are rockin’ this year. Here’s recap of what we have going on with our posts…
The sketch for the ENTIRE MONTH is posted on the FIRST SATURDAY of the month and all of the SFYTT Sisters have a blog post with the sketch, card, etc.
Then…on the 2nd {and 3rd} Saturdays half of the sisters posts again.
Finally, within the last few days of the month all of the sisters post again.
Come here or to the SFYTT Facebook Page for updates. Are you a fan yet?

Here's our sketch for this month!

You can LOTS of fun with this sketch! Here's my card, using Bucket's of Love by TSG!

The eggs are kind of hard to see because of the stickles and the way they photographed, but those are eggs in that basket, lol! I colored some grass and the blue sky behind the basket as well, but again..kind of hard to see that! I kept this card very simple and love how it turned out!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Make sure you play along with us this month and link your cards up on THIS POST on Jen's blog! Here are some challenge deets in case you're a new player:)

Here's more inspiration from the sisters!!
