MFT Teasers Day 3

Today is Day 3 of May's MFT Release teasers and as you know, the 3rd day is always saved for the Pure Innocence line (one of my faves!) There are like 4 or 5 new PI's being introduced today and I have a couple of them to share with you today!

First up, is the SWEET Pucker Up!

I know alot of you might still have some cold weather, even SNOW, but around these parts, the lemonade stands are abounding! Seriously, I can't walk my dogs without running into at least ONE and the poor little doe eyed kids asking you to buy some lemonade. I don't make a habit of carrying money when I walk my dogs so I never buy any:(

Anyhoo, little miss Pucker Up is stamped in Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah cardstock and colored with Copics *GASP* I know! What a shocker, lol:) The papers I used are papers I knew I was going to use the minute I saw this set, Lemonade by Basic Grey.

My last one is the next in the monthly flower collection, this month being Lily of the Valley...

I used the Fairy Tale papers by Prima for this card, I love yellows and purples so I colored my image to match! I did alot of shading on this card, and really like how it turned out. These PI's are so fun to color, makes me feel like a kid again! You can see the new Scalloped Ribbon Die-namics peeking out behind the purple paper. I love that die, it matches my open scalloped circle nestabilities:) I also used the smallest butterfly from Butterfly Die-namics, because every card needs a butterfly!

Okay, that's all I have today so make sure you stop by Kim's blog for a list of blogs to check out, there are more PI's out there you simply MUST see:) Thanks for coming by again today! I'll be back tomorrow with more!

MFT Teasers Day 2

Hello!!! I'm sorry my post is a bit late, some behind the scenes stuff that I won't bore you with, lol! Are you loving the sneak peeks so far? This really is my favorite MFT release of ALL time! Today, I'm sharing a card I made with Clearly Sentimental About Success, the current Triple Scoop set, which has a ton of awesome quotes and sentiments...

This card was *meant* to go another way, but as I was cutting out all the Stacking Stars Die-namics, I liked the way they all looked cut out in the paper, so I used the cardstock with all the stars cut out as a stencil and airbrushed with my W3 Copic, then layered the Kraft stars on top! I love how that turned out, even though it was an afterthought. I used my Well Worn Greetings set again, using the Denim texture and cut it out with one of the matching dies (love these!) and then stamped the greeting from Clearly sentimental About Success! I also used the open scalloped edge Die-namics and lots of buttons and twine:) And again, I doodled *heehee*!

Okay, since this post is already late, I'm going to quite talking, lol! Thanks so much for stopping by today! Make sure to hit Kim's Blog so you can see a list of all the ladies playing along today:) Be back tomorrow!

MFT Teasers Day 1

Hello! It's Day 1 of the MFT Teasers and I can't WAIT to show you what I've been up to:) As you may or may not know, I won the May Guest Designer Spot for MFT! I am so thrilled and honored to be playing with this amazing team and these SUPER FABULOUS stamps! I really hit the jackpot when I won this month, this is absolutely my FAVORITE MFT release EVER and I'm not just saying that because I'm the Guest DT. This release has so many amazing stamps and dies, ones I'm sure to come back to again and again! Today, we're previewing three fun sets! And being the over-achiever I am, I made a card for each set! Since I have so much to share, lets get right to it!

The first set I'll share is called Well Worn Greetings and is a stamp set with matching dies! You will *LOVE* this set and the dies, truly amazing and versatile! I made a couple cards with this set, but the card I decided to share today doesn't use the dies, only the stamps!

I made this one masculine, I'm thinking of sending it to my Dad on Father's day:) The big gingham label stamp in the background, as well as the "You're my Hero" stamps come from the Well Worn Greetings stamp set! The "Dad", stars, and circle stamps came for the Typewriter Alpha set released last month! I finished this one up with buttons and twine, I think my dad will love this card:)

Next up is this cute set called SS Flapper!

Man, I used to *LOVE* watching Gilligan's Island on Nick at Night, I miss that show! The name of this set reminds me of the show, lol! Remember the SS Minnow?:) Good times! I colored the adorable Flappers with Copics to match these Cosmo paers from Salt Air! I did a bit of doodling on the sentiment flag again, I've been into doodling for this release, don't know why,l ol! I added lots of stickels to the waves, and even used a ric rac border die to create more waves! FUN set, you will *love* it:)

Last set we're peaking today is called Fred Bear plays Indian!

Okay, this is my first Fred Bear set and now I must go back and buy all the previous releases because he is SOOOO CUTE! I don't color animals very often, so he was an experiment, lol! Most of the coloring I do is in the "feathering" style, and I think it works for him! It makes him look furry, I think:) There are a bunch of cute sentiments in this set, and I just adore it:) I also used the new Scalloped Ribbon Die-namics border die on top of the card, under the twine! That is a SERIOUSLY fun die, you'll love it!

Well that's all I have to share today! Stop by Kim's blog to see the entire list of participating blogs for MORE sneaky peeks! Thanks SO much for stopping by today:) Come back tomorrow for more sneak peeks!!

MFT Sketch Challenge #17-For a Beautiful Friend

Hey there! I'm back today with another MFT card! My month as guest designer for one of my favorite stamp companies EVER is flying by! Before you know it, the release will be upon us and another lucky girl will get to be Guest Designer! I guess I should stop rushing it, right?;) Okay, back to the card! This week we have another FABULOUS sketch for you!

Here's my card using Inspired by Spring {again}!

I just can't stop using this amazing set! There are so many fun stamps and sentiments packed into this one, I just want to use them all on ONE card, lol! I decided to use my beloved "Botanicals" paper by Prima for this card, and took all the color inspiration from this paper!

I stamped the branch (these look like cherry blossoms, yes?) in Crumb Cake ink and then used my B000 Copic marker for just a hint of color. Next, I spritzed the image with Sugar Cookie Shimmer Mist for some shine and I love that the splatters look so natural, lol! I was worried when my spritz bottle sprayed all over, but when it dried, it really gave it a worn, shabby look that I love!
I stamped the sentiment on a tag and tucked it behind the floral panel.

This is a closeup of the butterfly I cut out with the Butterfly Die-namics! I sprinkled it with Martha Stewarts chunky glitter and then added a button and twine bow. The butterfly is popped up on a dimensional. I also used my Faux Crotchet Die-namics border die, one of my favorites ever!

Okay, well make sure you go peek in on Kim's Blog for a list of all the DT girls playing along this week! I can't wait to see what they've done with this SUPER FUN sketch:) Also, the Freeze Frames have begun for the release coming up! Head on over to Kim's blog to see them:) You are going to *LOOOOOOOVE* this release!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for visiting today!

Viva la Verve--April Week 4

Hello! Long time no blog, huh? It's been a mixture of laziness, and nothing to show you, lol! I actually meant to have this post up YESTERDAY, but again...that laziness thing...

This week, Shannan is our fabby-dabby hostess and just LOOK at this amazing sketch!

Holy fabulousness, right? I love the sun rays she created, but couldn't replicate them. I hear she has a toot on her blog, so I may have to check it out and give this one another try;) For the time being, I just used a rectangle in place of the sun rays...

Don't be mad, I know alot of you haven't even seen much spring yet, and already I'm making Thanksgiving cards, lol! It's just that I found this fun paper in my stash and wanted to use it! One of the pieces had strips on it and I decided to use this one that says "Happy Thanksgiving"! The pumpkins are from Tall Oaks, a favorite Fall set! Just look at those fun, whimsical pumpkins, makes me think of Cinderella's carriage! I added some gold ice Stickles to the vines, it looks pretty cool IRL! those buttons aren't a part of the sketch, but I sort of HAVE to use buttons, it's a compulsion I don't feel like letting go;)

Come play along with us in the Verve Forums for your chance to win! Details and chatting can be found HERE! Have a lovely weekend, my friends!

MFT Sketch Challenge #16

Hello there! I'm back again on this lovely Wednesday with my sample card for this weeks sketch in the MFT forums! Check out this awesome sketch!

MFT Sketches never disappoint! They are always fun and leave lots of room for you to add your own flair and I love that:) Here's my card using the amazing Inspired by nature set (which looks like is out of stock, sorry about that!)

I think the Inspired By line is one of my favorites from MFT. They have the most amazing detail and shading, and as you can see, don't require coloring! They're perfectly beautiful just stamping in color and leaving the rest white, SO beautiful! I wanted to keep this card crisp and clean so I didn't do any distressing, sponging, coloring, and kept the embellishments minimal. I didn't use many die-namics, but I did use the Simply Scallops Die-namics on the bottom. They're in white, and over a white background so it keeps with the crisp and clean look I was going for:)

Thanks for stopping by today! I'm having so fun playing with the MFT DT, they're all brilliant, don't you think? Stop on over to Kim's blog to see the rest of her rockstars and what they've come up with using this sketch! You can also play along with us in the MFT Forums HERE!

See you when I see you:)

All Things Grow with Love

I had today off and it's rainy and thunder-stormy (is that a word? LOL!) so I had allllll day to get my crafty on in my stamp room! I knew for one of my cards, I wanted to play with some of the newly released Verve sets! Did you get your order in? I'm serious when I say it's my favorite release to date. Lots of fun flowers and the Elegant Leaves die? *SWOON!*
The next thing I needed to figure out was what colors I wanted to play with. I went searching for a challenge and stumbled upon the new CR84FN color challenge!

Are those gorgeous colors, or what???

Here's my card using stamps from Bloom and Grow, plus the Floral Circles and Elegant Leaves dies...

I started out with a Rustic Cream card base. The Aqua and Blue colors I used are Aqua Mist and Spring Rain by PTI. I cut a bunch of flowers out with my Floral Circles dies and then stamped and embossed matching blooms in white ep. I cut some Elegant Leaves dies from Rustic Cream cardstock and then stamped the matching leaves from Bloom and Grow and embossed them in clear ep. The doily is cut out with the new doily die by MFT. The next step was just to arrange all the blooms and leaves in that lower left corner. I stamped the sentiment, from Bloom and Grow, in Rich Espresso ink.

I thought this card needed a butterfly. A garden just isn't complete without one! I cut the vellum butterfly using the Flutterby die, three times. I then stacked the butterflies and separated the layers for some dimension, cause I figured this card was lacking in that department:p Last thing I did was add a bunch of Kaiser pearls!

All these stamps and dies are now available! Click HERE to see all the new goodies:)
If you want to save a few bucks, you could buy the bundle! Click the banner below!

Thanks so much for stopping by today:) Hope you have a relaxing Sunday:)

Verve Spotlights - Day 4, Hope Blooms, Proverbs 16:9 Plain Jane

Hi there and welcome back to Day 4 of the Verve April 2011 Spotlights!

Today we're spotlighting two new sets, Hope Blooms and Proverbs 16:9 Plain Jane!
I made a card with each set, but you'll have to wait until Monday's Favorites post to see my card with the Proverbs 16:9 PJ:)

I actually made TWO cards with Hope Blooms and I'll go ahead and share those with you right now:)

First up, a super simple one using the largest bloom from the set!
You gotta love a one layer card! I know I do! But sadly, that bow is still too big to slide through in a regular envelope without extra postage, lol! I just CAN'T make a mailable card, it's against my religion apparently, ha!
First I cut the card base with my large scallop punch (EK Success) and then stamped the largest bloom in each of the scallops with Melon Mambo ink (SU!) I had to stamp a couple leaves from Bloom and Grow also (LOOK! I didn't use a die, what's wrong with me???) The sentiment, along with lots of other fun ones with awesome fonts, is from Hope Blooms. I added some buttons, rhinestones, and ribbon to complete my little card:) Pretty simple!

Next up is another card using stamps from Hope Blooms and Bloom and Grow (I think you'll find that you need BOTH these stamp sets, they go SO WELL together!)

I really love this card, I think it's the color combination and all the leave dies, lol! YUMM! Card base is Hawaiian Shores and you already know where the leaf stamps come from (Bloom and Grow!). I stamped and embossed the leaves from Bloom and Grow in clear detail ep on the black Wonky Rectangles layer. What I love about the Elegant Leaves die is that you can cut it apart and use parts and pieces of the die where a full  die cut would be too much! I stamped the black leaves in black also, but you can hardly see it in this photo. I sort of wish I had done clear embossing here as well and almost did, but new job is kickin' my patoot, lol! I stamped the sentiment (from Hope Blooms) on a die cut cut out with my Spellbinders Grommet Tags die.

Verve Spotlights - Day 3: Love Deepens, Proverbs 31:28 Plain Jane

Hello and welcome to day 3 of the Verve Spotlights! I hope you've been enjoying the projects so far, so inspirational! Today, we've got MORE in store for you! A marvelous set of sentiments called "Love Deepens" and a new Plain Jane, "Proverbs 31:28"! Let's get started, shall we?

First up, a little vintage card using Love Deepens, a couple stamps from Bloom and Grow, and the Elegant Leaves die (which I fore-warned you would be on every card!)...

I seriously cannot take good pictures of tall and skinny cards, so I apologize in advance, lol! The paper is from Websters Pages. I cut the largest Floral Circles die and Elegant Leaves die from canvas and then stamped the coordinating images on top. Don't you love how that looks? I got the idea from Julee, she did this on a recent card and I fell in love! These dies cut through that canvas like butter, too, so perfect! The sentiment is actually two separate stamps, both from Love Deepens. I really love sets that have the word "Mom" in addition to "Mother" because my mom always has and always will be my "Mom" :)

Next up is this card with the new Proverbs 31:28 Plain Jane!
I embossed the card base with my Square Lattice embossing folder and then layered on some patterned paper (Botanicals by Prima). I really love this verse. I look at it and see the relationships my brother and I have with my sweet mom and the way my Dad still looks at her every day, it really makes my heart happy:) I sure do love my Mom:)

I hope you enjoy the day and the rest of the Diva's projects! Here's today's hop list:

Verve Spotlights - Day 2, Bloom and Grow, Elegant Leaves die, and Floral Circles die

**This is my 2nd post for today! Please scroll down or click HERE to see my MFT Sketch #15 sample! Thanks:)**

Welcome to day 2 of the Verve Stamps Spotlights! We're counting down to release day by sharing sneak peeks of the AMAZING sets being released on Friday!

You are going to simply ADORE the images and dies being shown today. Seriously my favorite. release. ever.

For my card here, I used images from the new set "Bloom and Grow" and the new Floral Circles dies! I kind of wanted to create a topiary scene with the flower images and matching dies, so this definitely had to be a long and skinny card. I cut the shapes out with the dies first and then stamped the blooms in Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear detail embossing powder and topped the blooms off with some buttons and twine! I stamped some smaller flowers and one of the leaves from the set in a light pink and turquoise ink. The flowers are stacked in the basket from "Chicks Rule" and I added some felt grass (using MFT's Fresh Cut Grass die). This is a really simple card, but I think it's just right:)

I have one more card to share using the same set and floral circles dies, PLUS the new FANTASTIC Elegant Leaves die!

Again, a pretty simple card, but it really gets an added boost with those new dies, doncha think? The Elegant Leaves die will be on every card on my blog, from here on out. Fair warning, lol! Isn't it GORGEOUS? Paired with the matching leaves stamp in the Bloom and Grow set, it's the perfect combination:) I also used the super adorable Sweet Scallop Tag die. Steel dies are seriously the best thing since stamps:) The "Happy Mother's Day" and "Grandma" stamps are from another set we're spotlighting tomorrow, so be sure to check back for more on that fun set!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Here's your blog hop list for the day, happy hopping:)

Happy Spring!!

Hello!!! I'm here today with my first card as the May MFT Guest Designer! I'm super excited to get to design with the girls on the MFT design team, they're so sweet and talented, every single one of them! Today I have a card to share using the WSC Getting Sketchy #15 sketch!

Here's my card using the "Out on a Limb" Pure Innocence set...

I couldn't find her in the store, so she must be out of stock at the moment...
I used Jillybean Soup papers on this card, and even paper-pieced her dress with the same paper I used in the background!
I bet you can see lots of Die-namics in there too, huh? Here's a list of the ones I used:

I want to apologize for being late with my post today, I made a card for the wrong sketch and didn't notice until 15 minutes till the card was due to be posted, lol! I can tell this is going to be one of those weeks;)

Thanks for stopping by today! Don't forget to start at Kim's Blog for a list of all participants today and then head on over to the MFT Forums on SCS to join the fun!

Verve Spotlights - Day 1, Bunny Shake,

It's time to shine our sneaky Verve spotlight on some brand new stamps! We're counting down to Verve's release party this Friday night, April 15, with FOUR days of Spotlight Hops! And since we love to share, there's a prize hidden on one of today's hop spots! Just leave a little shout-out in the comments as you hop about for a chance to win some new Verve of your very own! You can check out the Verve Blog for all the prize details and deadlines.

Today, we're shining that spotlight on 4 fun sets! Bunny Shake, Birthday Phrases, Faithful Phrases, and Happy Phrases! Believe it or not, I have a couple cards to share with you today. First up, is this adorable bunny from Bunny Shake!

I am sorry about the poor lighting, I just couldn't get this Berry Sorbet card to photograph right, you ever have problems like that? LOL! I used Andrea's fabulous VLV April Week 2 sketch for the layout of my card and some papers from SU!'s in-color paper pad (Hostess Level 1). I also had to go big with the bows, I just love how they look with those little roses!

To add a little sparkle, I colored all the pink polka dots on the patterned paper with Star Dust Stickles. I love how it adds a little something, without overpowering. Try it yourself! It really dresses up a boring piece of patterned paper.

Okay, up next is this little number, using a sentiment from Faithful Phrases...

I stamped and embossed a floral image from Serenity on Kraft cardstock and trimmed it in lace ribbon. I also had a couple doilies on my desk that I've been wanting to use so I spritzed it with Glimmer Mist (to tone down the stark white) and mounted the main image on top of if. I sewed around the Lemon Tart card base and then added the sentiment and some twine and a button.

Last one for today, using a sentiment from Happy Phrases...

I know this looks valentine'y, doesn't it? LOL! That wasn't my initial plan, but why fight fate?:) I used that other doily, some Raspberry Fizz ribbon/button, and the heart is cut out with the Jotted Heart die! I ran it through my Big Shot and Seeing Spots embossing folder and then added the sentiment strip. I wanted to add a few red pearls for texture as well, I love how it turned out!

So are you read for more sneak peeks? Check out the hop list below and get to hoppin! The Diva's have been working hard (as usual) to prepare some amazing projects for you showcasing a few of the awesome sets being released on Friday! Thanks for stopping by today! March Diva Dare

Hey you! Thanks for coming by today:) It's my turn over on the Verve Blog today! If you didn't know, it's time for March's Diva Dare and this month, the dare is COLOR ME SPRING!

I don't know about you, but I can't get enough of the spring colors lately! Here in Okinawa, Spring is HERE! And summer should be here by next week, lol! I kept a really springy feeling to my card by using soft yellows, pinks, and greens and WHAT is more springy than a bird?

First I stamped the newly released Hope Perches Plain Jane in Tea Dye distress ink and then I inked up the bird from Swan Song in Tea Dye distress ink, stamped it off once, and then stamped it over the sentiment for a kind of "sunk in" appearance. I love how it came out, just how I envisioned! I tied some bows to the card front and then wrapped some twine around the ribbon and added buttons and another bow! I tell ya, I can't get enough of ribbon, buttons, and bows! My husband even noticed the trend once, he goes "Babe, they all look the same! Why do they all have ribbon and buttons?" *sigh* They just don't understand but God bless 'em for trying;)

Want to play and win some Verve? Head on over to the Verve Blog for details! Thanks for stopping by today:)

Sketch Book 3, Layout 1

Hello! I signed up for Kelly Purkey's Sketchbook 3 class this month! I'm very excited about it and hoping I can keep up. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday she sends us a sketch and the sketches come with FABULOUS samples from many scrapbooking "celebrities" (for lack of better term, ha!). The class just started on Monday and I'm still caught up:) Here's my first layout!

I used some super old papers from MME and SU! Chocolate Chip cardstock! All the fun little die cuts are also from MME (I think the line was called "Breaking Out") I also used the Technique Tuesday set "Ordinary Days" to create half of my journal block.  I took these pictures a couple days ago when I took the dogs to the beach to swim, they had a great time, as you can see on their happy faces:)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Gettin' Shabby with MFT!

Hello out there, friends! How the heck are you today? I'm doing quite well! It's been an absolutely GORGEOUS weekend in Okinawa! Probably low-70's, BRIGHT SUNNY SKY, no clouds, green grass/blue sky, birds chirping, kids throwing sticks in my backyard.. *sigh* it's the little things in life;)

I decided to try out for MFT's guest designer spot again this month! I figure what they hey, even if I don't get picked, I'm having WAY MORE FUN than any girl should be allowed to have:) The challenge for this month is sHaBbY! I can do that! I actually LOVE to do that, just don't do that very often. SO, since my shabby creative muse was with me this weekend, I made TWO cards for this challenge:) GO ME! LOL!

Here's my first one...
I can't TELL you how much I love this card! I truly hate saying that because it sounds so conceited, but I don't mean it that way, lol! I just had so much fun making it! There is nothing better than a fist full of fabby dies, some great stamps, and a plan:)
The card base is Vintage Cream and the patterned paper I used is from Crate Paper's Portrait collection. I created the rosette with MFT's  3/8" Rosette die-namics, layered on a Decorative Doily die-namics. I stamped a frame and cut it out with the Polka Dot Greetings die/stamp set, but then covered it up with a sentiment and now you can't see it, lol! The sentiment is from Framed Greetings and I trimmed it with the Faux Crotchet Border die. The butterfly is from Inspired by Butterflies! I stamped the butterfly on vellum and then trimmed it out carefully and curled the wings under a bit:) I finished this card off with some twine and buttons from PTI, and a photo corner punched with an SU! punch. I also inked everything with Creamy Brown chalk in (colorbox) and did some sewing:) Think I used enough dies? LOL! You can NEVER use too many dies;)

Okay, this next card I created today, on a whim! I saw this amazing card by Debbie Olson created a couple days ago with the Labels 4 Grand Nestabilities and have been wanting to try one! I was on my way upstairs to grab some laundry and a small whisper came from my stamp room saying "come try the shaped card" OooOOOoooo! I couldn't resist, bahah! So I cut the card base out and the rest was history:)

The paper is from The Girls Paperie! I've been HOARDING these two sheets (I bought two of this particular piece, the floral and gingham are the same sheet, both sides) of patterned paper and when I knew I wanted to create another card for the shabby MFT challenge, I knew it was time.
I created a belly band for my card instead of tying it with ribbon, this way I don't feel bad untying it, knowing I'll never get the bow right again, lol! The belly band just slides off and I think is a fun accent:)
I used the Framed Greetings frame stamp and die for the focal point and stamped a sentiment from Flower Silhouette under the row of buttons!

I also added Star Dust Stickles to the card front and on the inside panel...

Unfortunately, my picture came out a little bright here so you can't see the inside really well so I blew it up real big, lol! I stamped the flowers from Flower Silhouette again and then cut another one out with the matching die and glued it down. The sentiment says "I just wanted you to know that you are fabulous" :) Isn't that sweet? This card has a home to go to as well;)

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I had fun crafting this weekend and I'm glad I have friends to share with:) Have a great Sunday!
