TGF Sweet September Blog Hop!!!!!!!

I have a card using the sweet new Marina Neira digi, Huey Birdhouse! He is seriously adorable and OH SO FUN to color!

This is such a beautiful image that I wanted to keep it the focus of my card, so the layout and embellishments are very minimal (I know! Don't expect that too often, lol!)

I colored Huey with Copics, these are the colors I used:

I also had some fun with my airbrushing system, I airbrushed the sky in! I had a bit of an airbrush emergency, I wanted to add some darker blue and it was a little too dark, but if you can't see where I messed up then I'm golden, lol! For the grass, I layed down a base of YG93 and then airbrushed some YG95 and YG99 for texture. I am SO addicted to airbrushing!

Digi know there are some new Critters coming to the farm?

Well there are! Three of them to be exact and they are SUPER adorable! Not only are we release three new Critters, there's a new Anya, New Ian, and a SWEET and TOXIC 4x6 set! Let me introduce you to Beto! Isn't he the SWEETEST? I love his cute t-shirt, his flower bouquet, and that sweet hat! I colored Beto with Copics and used some Max and Whiskers dp by Basic Gray. The sentiment is from Signature Greetings by PTI.

Freaky Friday!

I gotta tell you, I'm LOVING my new Creepers from TGF! Friday especially, she is SO darn fun! I wanted to use her today even BEFORE I saw the challenge up on CMC this weekend! This weekend's challenge is coloring CURLY hair! Amy has a fantastic tutorial that you simply MUST check out! I needed practice coloring red hair anyway so I used the same colors she used on her tutorial for my Friday card:)

I used the Saturday Sketch on Club Anya & Friends for the layout and some fun MME paper coupled with Cajun Craze (FABULOUS color) and Dark Chocolate!

I sponged some Wheat and Pumpkin Versamagic chalk ink on the image while it was still in the rectangle Nestability and then sewed around it. 

That's all I have today! Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with another Critter Crew sneak peek from TGF! We have a typhoon coming so I'm hoping we still have internet tomorrow!

SFYTT-You Make Good Times Great!

How about a fun sketch to get your weekend going? This week's SFYTT has TONS of potential! I had a couple ideas in mind for this one, so I'll have to make another card tomorrow!

For my card today, I broke one of the NEW and FABULOUS Verve sets, Great Friend! Verve recently released 8 new sets, you can see them all HERE! Buy the bundle and save some money:)

Okay, I really wanted to use this stamp set today and this was the only way I could make it work. Instead of cutting a bunch of circles like the sketch calls for, I just stamped a bunch of flowers randomly where the circles SHOULD be:) Don't you LOVE this stamp set? I really love stamping the solid images and then stamping the outline images over it, it looks like it could a patterned paper! The colors I used are Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, and Chocolate. The beautiful lace is from the 100 Yen store, I love that I can get 3 feet of this gorgeous lace for only 100 Yen (1 dollar!)

I have a cute story about this card. I couldn't decide if I wanted that Baja Breeze mat so I took the card in to Billy and asked him which way he preferred. Just the chocolate mat or add the Baja mat? He looked at it and concentrated real hard, says "Is this just a card for a friend? No special occasion?" I say "Yep!" and he tells me "I think you should add the Baja mat. If it was for a formal occasion I would suggest just the chocolate and white but since it's not formal, you should add the Baja!" Hahaha, how cute is that? I love that guy, he has a great eye for card fashion, lol!

Farm Fresh Friday-Sketch time with a SNEAK PEEK!!!!

EEEEEEEK!! Don't you LOVE sneak peeks with TGF? I am seriously SO EXCITED about this release!!! Today, the Critter Crew and the Farmers have a ton of sneak peeks for you! There are 3 new Critter Crew images I'll be sneak peeking with you over the next few days (next sneak peek is scheduled for Monday!) so lets jump right in!

Today's Farm Fresh Friday challenge is a SKETCH challenge! Our favorite:)

Seriously, how fun is that sketch! Mercy ROCKED this one!

Okay, as much as I loved her sketch, I couldn't get this image to look right on a slant so I kept the main panels straight:) I'm such a rule-breaker!

But lets focus on the FABULOUSLY cute new digi, Rainy Duck! Isn't he SWEET????? I colored him with Copics to match the papers from OA's Thrift Shop line! The cardstock base is Harvest Gold by PTI as is the ribbon. The buttons and blue cardstock are Enchanted evening. I stamped the sentiment from Verve's Happy Hello on the cloud. Looking back, I'm not sure if the sentiment makes as much sense with this card as I was thinking at the time. But oh well, it's still terribly cute, if I do say so myself;) I sponged the image while it was still in the Nestability die, it's a Versamagic chalk ink but I can't remember the color, it's fabulous, no?

Strippin' it down!

Hi there! I know I have been quiet again, it's been a long week at work plus my sweet husband has shared his nasty cold with me, so I've been kind of out of it for the past couple days! I do have a card I can share though, and it should have been posted LAST Wednesday! 

As you know (or maybe you didn't, but now you do!), every other Wednesday there is a fun challenge on the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge Blog! This week's challenge is a "Strip it down" challenge, to use NO MORE than TWO layers of dp on your card! Easy enough, right? I know you can do it!

I just LOVE these Popcorn Bears by Crafter's Companion, aren't they precious? I especially love this one, Smile the Popcorn Bear, and all his fun balloons:) I colored the image in with Copics on Neenah cardstock.  The dp I used is from Basic Gray. I also used some blue Hero Arts rhinestones on the balloon and the border (cut with an MFT die). OH and one last embellie I used was that Prima rose bud on the ribbon! 

I hope you go and give the challenge a try! All you have to do to be eligible to win is use a stamp carried by the 7 Kids Store! Verve Sneak Peeks, Day 4~Dream BIG!

Here we are at day FOUR already! Today's set, Dream Big, is simply AMAZING! I am so excited to see what the rest of the Diva's did with this set, it's one of my FAVORITES from this release! More fun fonts, sentiments, and gorgeous elements. I just know you're going to love this one:)

I went a little clean and simple with this one. For me, anyways, lol!

I stamped the sentiments in Momento Espresso, SU! Riding Hood Red and So Saffron on Vintage Cream cardstock. I decided to stamp the floral image on the card base as my scallops, they're FABULOUS! Scalloped Scallops, nothing better than that! The dp on the bottom is from Material Girl by Cosmo!

 I finished this simple card with some Cuttlebug embossing and some Dark Chocolate ribbon from PTI!

Verve Sneak Peeks, Day 3~Birthday Bash and Carpe Cupcake!

Welcome to Day 3 of the Verve Stamps Anni-VERVE-sary release week sneak peeks! WHEW! That was a mouth full, lol! Can you STAND all these cute new stamp sets? I almost swooned when I opened my package of all these beautiful stamp sets, Julee outdoes herself EVERY time! I'm loving these two sets we're peeking today, what's more fun that cake, balloons, cupcakes and super fun sentiments? NOTHING, lol!

For my card today, I used one of the Anni-VERVE-sary release week sketches!

Here's my card:

The cake, balloons, and sentiment are from Birthday Bash and the sprinkles on the cake are from Carpe Cupcake!

The card base is white. I sewed a Riding Hood Red layer (embossed with my Seeing Spots Cuttlebug folder). The Pink Pirouette piece was stamped with the cupcake background builder, I stamped it in light pink so you can BARELY see it, but that's the effect I was going for:) Don't you love the font in the sentiment? Seriously, love this set!

Verve Sneak Peeks, Day 2~Framed Wishes/Fabulous You!

So are you loving this month's sneak peeks so far? You ain't seen NOTHIN' yet! We still have 7 sets to peek, EEEEEEKS! Today's stamp sets really make me smile! Not only are there a TON of fabulous sentiments of varying fonts, but TWO fabulous frames, too! These frames will work with SO MANY Verve stamps, it makes my HEAD SPIN! LOL! I just know you're going to love these sets. Today I chose to work with Fabulous You!

I used the 2nd Anni-VERVE-sary sketch challenge for my layout:

This sketch was MADE for these stamp sets, lol! 

My card base is Vintage Cream and then I sewed a layer of K&Co dp/Kraft cardstock on top. I ran the smaller kraft piece through my cuttlebug for some texture and the layered a piece of Aqua Mist ribbon (sewed onto a strip of Vintage Cream cut out with my Apron Lace punch). The frame and sentiment are stamped in Crumb Cake on Vintage Cream. The sentiment panel was cut out with a frame punch by EK Success, it fits PERFECTLY! I love when that happens, ha!

Welcome to Day 1 of the Anni-VERVE-sary August Release!

This will truly be one of the BEST releases in Verve history, GUARANTEED!

Today, we're showcasing Love Story which is a GORGEOUS set--perfect for weddings, anniversary's, or "Just Because I Love You" cards!

Okay, here's my sneaky peeky!

I just LOVE these colors together, Black, Aqua Mist, and White! So classy and elegant, a perfect Anniversary card! I'm giving this to my sweetie on September 1st, our 7 year anniversary!! It's got a little bit of bling and what man likes swirly punches, but you now what? My honey is used to my girly man cards, lol!

The swirly punch is from EK Success! 

This image is actually three separate stamps. The birds, the heart, and the sentiment are all separate, but don't they look stunning together? That's what I love about this set, TONS of mixing and matching possibilities!

Oh, Alice! Sketch Challenge

I got to play in another Oh, Alice! Blog challenge today! I had colored up this sweet Flirty Anya a couple days ago when I got her in the mail (yeah, she was already cut and colored within 2 hours of getting her from the PO, lol!) I was looking for a fun layout and came across this fab sketch from the Oh Alice! Challenge blog. Jen Shults is the creator of this wonderful sketch!

Here's my card!

The card is a 5x5 inch square. I used some of my hoarded "Mariposa" paper by DCWV! I think I bought this earlier this year when I was in Nashville and Jessica took me for a little shopping trip! I adore this paper!!!!! And Flirty Anya, you just GOTTA love her! I stamped her in Momento Tuxedo Black on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored her in with Copics. You can also see some red liquid pearls around the scallops, some kaiser pearls, red Prima flower and a Sweet Green Blossom by Zva!!

Farm Fresh Friday-What's Your Lucky Number?

Obviously today is NOT the day of lucky numbers, lol! I'm not superstitious, but I still make sure to watch my step all day, lol! Today's Farm Fresh Friday challenge is to use a NUMBER on your card! It doesn't have to be your lucky number, just incorporate a number into your card SOMEHOW!

Here I used a "4" on my card, in the sentiment! I know, not super creative but I am STRAPPED for mojo this week!

I used the SUPER cute Carousel digi! I printed the image out on Neenah Solar White cardstock (my FAVORITE for printing digis and for coloring with Copics! 7 Kids College Fund has it SUPER CHEAP! You won't find it cheaper ANYWHERE! The papers used are from Max and Whiskers by Basic Gray. I colored the image in with Copics to match the paper, as best I could!

Mercy's Sketch #86

Hello! It seems like it's been so long since I've made a card or even posted, but it's only been a couple days, lol! I'm attending a transition/separation class this week as my separation from the military is looming ever closer! We've been writing our resume's, practicing interviews, talking benefits, and a bunch of other SUPER stressful things this week so my stamping mojo is NOT with me lately! I did however do some coloring today. I got my new TGF stamps in the mail and just wanted to kind of zone out and enjoy some coloring time, lol!

I used Mercy's Tuesday sketch for this week, a really fun one!

Right? FUN! 

Here's my card using the fabulous FRIDAY!

Okay, be gentle, remember I told you my mojo is NOT HERE with me, lol! I am quite pleased with the coloring part, but the embellishing of this card was beyond me, ha! It's all good though, I really wanted to highlight this image anyway, isn't she FAB?

I sponged around her with my Ranger Tea Dye distress ink and Espresso (by Momento) inks. 

I also did a little highlighting of the image with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol!

Okay, off to work on my 30 second commercial for class tomorrow *please say a prayer for me, I do hate to brag on myself, lol!*

My Faux Doily

A couple days ago, Betsy Veldman posted the most brilliant stamping idea EVER! She created stamped doily's just by using some PTI stamps! I absolutely could not WAIT to try it so since I had an hour to play today, this is what I came up with!

The stamps I used are all from Borders and Corners {Circles}, Boxes, Bags, and Tags, and Giga Guidelines. I stamped it all in Marina Mist ink and then colored in the lines with my B93 Copic marker. I also added several Kaiser pearls to the intersections, a crocheted flower (by SU!), and a white button. The sentiment is from Giga Guidelines and the dp is from K&Co but I forgot the line I used. 

SUPER easy, just like she said! I can't wait to make more:)
